Halloween is coming up, it is already over in some communities.
An easy way to explain socialism to your child is to have them go out and work very hard going to as many houses as possible, then going home and tell them that Barry Obama has been elected President and he thinks it is unfair that you have so much candy and others do not have any. Therefore, Dad is forced to take half the candy out of your bag and walk around the neighborhood and give it to kids who did not go trick or treating this year. And he can't say the candy came from you, he has to say it came from Barry.

I can't wait for the kids across the street to show up.
We're going to discuss that Obama sigh in their front yard.
TerryN
I hit publish too soon... Obama isn't sighing across the street. There's an Obama sign over there.
Why can't I miss a letter in the word verification instead?
I think the reason people aren't concerned about Obama being a Marxist is because they really don't understand exactly how dangerous Marxism is to America.
For all readers, I don't usually visit other people's blogs to promote my own, but I have written a post that I feel is vitally important to help educate those who have yet to understand the dangerous implications of an Obama administration. If you don't know why you should be concerned about Obama's Marxist ideology please visit and be educated.
it's amazing to me how going from a top marginal rate of 35% to 39% is marxist. furthermore, our income tax has been a progressive system since it was instituted by teddy roosevelt in 1913. were teddy, nixon, and reagan marxists?
you people are becoming even more irrational than i thought possible. i just can't believe the slime that is coming from the right in this campaign. and the voter suppression is amazing!
Hey Mark, I don't mind you promoting your blog...but you should start commenting here more like you used to!!!
no no no...its not JUST the tax rates going back up...its that they are going back up and those who do nothing or next to nothing keep getting breaks...
I'm teaching my kids a lesson on Republicanista economics. I've seized their piggy banks and declared their holdings as worthless. I've imposed a surcharge on future contributions and am using the money in the banks to take them to dinner. After all, it's their money I'm just helping them spend it on something I know they will enjoy.
What a louzy example!! Sorry dude - it hardly reflects Obama's tax plan. You should make some corrections - Those kids will already be giving candies to G.Bush! Moreover, to keep everybody happy, he is borrowing tons of candy everyday from the local shop on credit!! :)
I'm actually supporting McCain with the hope that...if he wins, he will go back to who he was and he would oppose tax cuts to rich just as he did to Bush tax cuts!! (well, that's not the only reason why I support him).
Having said that, I still think that the talk of 'redistribution of wealth' and 'maxist' is far better than hate-filled 'terrorist' or 'he is an arab' talk. :)
Well, while I know it is not the case ..you are now sounding not only narrowminded but greed and selfish too. You operate under the assumption that no one wants to help others succeed and that anything that is used to help will go to those who won't help themselves. I couldn't disagree with you more. Why is it the right just LOVES America but thinks most of the people in it are lazy shiftless bums and the US government is a horrible evil thing? You hate america waaaaaaaaay more than lil ol liberal me.
I'll tell you what. You can have the butterfingers and hard candies and I get the 3 musketeers and snickers bars. Mommy taught me to share was an upright moral value and to talk and act like a selfish person was nasty and crude.
those who do nothing or next to nothing keep getting breaks...
This is the gapeing hole in your logic that you can drive a fleet of trucks through.
The vast, vast majority of the country gets up and does the best they can everyday to make life for them and their family better and get tired of you talking about them like this. Why do you hate Americans? You sound like some foreign goofball with no belief in the American Spirit when you say such things.
after reading ron and anon's comments I feel more correct than at any other point in my life.
It is not greedy to want what I earned...
What is not fair is to take things away from someone and give it to someone who does not deserve it...especially when they will not get better because of it
As a school teacher there isn't much the evil govt can take from you. Admit it. So why are you falling over backwards to shout the rich rightwing talking points? The top .1% are the ones who stand to take a hit, not hardworking Americans who are now struggling to put aside some of their earnings during difficult economic times. You might buy into the "oh the poor uber-rich" line but obviously you have seen enough hard facts over the last 8 yrs to admit that trickle down doesn't work.
How many jobs did Bush's $1.4 trillion tax cut create? Nada.
Game, My problem number one with your confident, self satisfied proclaimation is that you continue to say that they don't deserve it. That is such a wide swath of generalization as to be useless.
Second as anon pointed out, you living good off the evil government are not in 6 figures a year so it won't be.
Third, I guess your dad didn't teach you about life like mine did. He told me fare is what you pay to ride the bus. Ever since then when somebody crys "thats not fair!". I think of them as *ussies. Just my training.
Fourth. You are selfish. Did you earn it or are you blessed to be overpayed? Are you underpaid? It's not greedy to want it but it is greedy to force others to suffer because you won't help. MINE MINE,MINE. Another whine of a two year old. You want someone else to do everything while you continue to benifit. Who's gonna make this work if you and I don't? We are both responsible for the success of this country.
Fifth. I wasn't talking about taxes. Although my thoughs would likely be somewhat similar. ..I'm talking about the rich taking less for their work and the poor getting more. By God they worked for it! I'm telling you the wealthy are being waaaaay over valued and the poor and middle are being undervalued.
Quite simply, if I earn it, I should get to keep it. If I want to help others, it should be my choice. There are plenty of organizations to donate to. My problem is with the government taking my money and deciding to whom it should be distributed.
Quite simply, if I earn it, I should get to keep it.
Chris, Not true and never was never will be and probably never should be. Think about it.
Unless you are very wealthy you are beating a dead red herring. How about we pay you more and the guy at the top of your company less? How about we leave taxes alone and do it that way? Would you do something in your and the vast number of other citizens favor then? Or are you a sheperd for the rich?
ron is really showing what a dem govt will bring...read it over and over..
we are selfish if we dont' want to create more and more people who are apart of this learned helplessness that socialism creates.
It goes against human nature and stops people from working hard and making something of themselves.
Ron,
You're missing the point. It has to do with forcing others to do that which others aren't willing to do on their own.
Everyone knows that taxes are a must. The government, the military, the infrastructure, must be supported. (We're talking about the feds here) There are only a few duties that are mandated by the Constitution. Quite simply, the feds are into too many pies. As far as caring for the poor, how do they know someone is poor as a result of bad luck or as a result of total laziness and stupidity. As I believe there is no excuse for poverty in this country, and tons of examples of why that statement is true, I have a really hard time believing that most on the left give a flying rat's ass about poverty since they aren't digging deeply into their own pockets to support the many fine charitable organizations that already exist, and exist locally to be more in touch with those truly in need. We've seen the reports of which of the candidates are more generous, and by all the talk, you'd expect it to be Barely Obama. But it isn't. In fact, he seems quite the tightwad, with members of his own family in abject poverty. He's made enough off his books to spot them a few grand. He could sell that house that his buddy Rezko got him, buy a smaller one, and send a few grand more.
But no. It's all about making YOU pay for poor, or me, or Game or the wealthy, most of whom have become so through honest effort, sacrifice, risk, and other traits that the bleeding hearts should be learning and passing on to those in need. This stereotype of the wealthy being the greedy bastard types is a propaganda tool to create the divisions of class that the Dems can exploit for votes. And when there is greed exhibited, as there seems to have been in this current financial crisis, they leap for joy at their good fortune for having examples to back up their rhetoric. Too bad they don't include their own, like Raines.
To say the right is greed and selfish because we oppose confiscatory tax policy is to further that propaganda and it fails to account for what is done privately by the very same people on behalf of worthy recipients. It's two separate issues.
Marshall,...it's YOU that are missing the point. I am and NEVER HAVE BEEN talking about people who dont work. LET ME SAY IT AGAIN TO MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND. I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT PEOPLE WHO DON'T OR WON'T WORK OR ARE LAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you all freakin understand that now! Geez how many times must you ignore me when I say that!?
I oppose the transfer of wealth where some work and get 60 to 400 times what I who work get. They are narcissistic if they think they deserve that..or greedy. One person gets 10 dollars an hour and another gets a thousand. I could give a squat about your internecine tax crusade. Do what ever the hell you want. Let me say that again. I am not worried about taxes. I am worried about the transfer of wealth from the poor and middle to the rich. Raise salaries for people willing to work and you might find people a bit more enthusiastic. It is the American way you know. Taxes is a red herring in my book. Let me say again. I don't care about your internal debate on taxes. I am tired of the rich robbing me of money when I go out and work hard because a millionare needs another million. I'll pay all the taxes and you pay none, just pay me real money.
At many stages in the advance of humanity, this conflict between the men who possess more than they have earned and the men who have earned more than they possess is the central condition of progress. ....At every stage, and under all circumstances, the essence of the struggle is to equalize opportunity, destroy privilege, and give to the life and citizenship of every individual the highest possible value both to himself and to the commonwealth. Teddy Roosevelt(R)
NY.
"I am tired of the rich robbing me of money when I go out and work hard because a millionare needs another million. I'll pay all the taxes and you pay none, just pay me real money.
And Class envy raises it's ugly head again.
When are you libtards going to get it? If you tax the rich, they will compensate by raising prices on goods and services. Then, they pass the increased expense on to you, the working people. And if you think they won't increase prices without creating even more profit for themselves, you don't understand econo, ics very well.
This is America, Putz. They have a right to pursue happiness as well as you do. You need not concern yourself with what others may do. You only need to concern yourself with working for the American Dream, and quit blaming others because you are't as wealthy as they are.
