McCain vs Obama Round II

Most of the debate was uninteresting...
They were both allowed to make their talking points...questions were generic.
I liked McCain's line about Obama voting for a 3.5 million dollar projector.
McCain won in the end because I believe he drilled Obama when it came to the war and terrorism.
McCain talked with confidence and experience, Obama gave generic answers that didn't say much.
Problem is McCain won, but not by a whole lot and he needs something bigger to make up the points in the polls.

Not sure if anybody won this time. Last time, I felt McCain was clearly the winner. This time....not so sure since both kept it to their talking points.

Economy and failure of Bush administration are killing McCain. It's really sad to see him paying price for Bush's failure. Sometimes, I wish he was in a third party. It's really really difficult to convince the voters that he would bring in change when he belongs to the same party!!

What a shame! We finally have a candidate who is truly bi-patrisan, who has sacrificed for his country, who really understands the issues like global warming breaking his party lines....But, Whitehouse might be slipping away from him.

What a shame...he didn't win in 2000. What a shame!!

I totally agree...
You can agrue McCain's ideas, but being so intellectually lazy and dishonest by calling McCain partisan is actually laughable to anyone with a clue.
He has got to be the most bi-partisan candidate for President in a very long time...

I enjoyed McCain's concession speech at the end of the debate. It showed true class that he said, basically, it's over. It's a shame he still has campaign cash to spend cuz otherwise he could go ahead and concede the election tomorrow. Remember conservatives: you reminded us often since 2001 that any criticism of the president is unpatriotic, so keep that in mind over the next 4-8(12?) years.

that is not true...bashing him just to weaken the office is unpatriotic...
See we are intellectually honest, Bush has been praised and bashed on this site...
Same can not be said about any liberal site.

I appreciate the intellectual honesty, but when nay-sayers spoke against invading Iraq they weren't bashing Bush "just to weaken the office." They were genuinely concerned it was a bad strategic initiative. And they were called traitors and worse by the pro-war crowd. Does this mean you saw the Clinton impeachment circus as weakening the office? Or was it THAT important to finally catch Slick doing something wrong, even if it was a few measely blowjobs from an fugly intern and lying about it? See that's why some folks question the motives here. I don't want Bush impeached because that WOULD weaken the office further, even if he's told more lies than Slick and thumbed his nose at congressional oversight...which, had Slick done the same, Whitewater would have gone nowhere.

The Maverick just voted for $700,000,000,000.00 in corporate welfare, and is asking for $300,000,000.00 more. McCain rants about greed, talks up sacrifice, and thinks we should put Country First. I think McCain has convinced the voters-- let's have nationalist healthcare, nationalist finance, and nationalist energy -- Country First, right?

In any debate between two individuals with shared principles, the more consistent one will win. That's Obama.

I will definitely not be spewing pure paranoia and vitriol toward Obama in the style of Kos. Obama *is* the Messiah, y'know. ;)

Hopefully dissent will still be patriotic, eh?

interesting that the 3.5 million dollar "projector" was the projector for a planetarium:

"Here is the verbatim description from Sen. Obama's request:

Adler Planetarium, to support replacement of its projector and related equipment, $3,000,000."

Actually I thought she was mildly hot..kinda like the fire sauce at Taco Bell

Jason, you don't understand..it's only unpatriotic to be critical of great patriots like Bush and Cheney. The terrorist sympathizer Obama is fair game.

(actually they all are but ...well you know)

but, ron, if you realize he is a terrorist sympathizer, why do you continue to support him?

Ron said...

I was joking hash, he's no more a terrorist sypathizer than McCain or Palin is. That's a wild association made by others that misses all that is important right now to me and reaches the point of bad comedy in the mind of anyone living in a reality based world.

I can make a great arguement..and I am sure you've seen it before, that Bush/Cheney have done more to aid the terrorists than anyone on the planet.
What we need to be talking about is how we stop terrorists from doing us more harm...from today forward. If your idea is to blow them all to kingdom come let me, bless your heart, in as much humility as I can muster, say that you aren't even playing in my league.
