Too bad that reporters are saying that Obama's chief of staff was the one that urged the feds to pull the trigger on this arrest. I'm not sure how Obama working to get a corrupt Democrat arrested makes him look bad. I don't recall any Republicans working to get George Ryan moved out.
That's because there are so few Republicans in Illinois.
I also wonder why Obama's chief wanted the plug pulled on the dear Governor so soon. Usually they wait for the deal to go down so they can nab the purchaser along with the purveyor. Like in a drug deal.
But I'm sre Obama's chief just wanted honesty to prevail. Hah!
Gov Rod looks pretty crooktacular and stupid too. Even dumber than Sarah Palin and that's sayin somethin. Lock him up. I noticed that Willy Jefferson lost his election too. The dems are taking care of their own.
I knew as sure as the sun comes up in the morning that you radical rightists would be immediately moving to connect Obama to this. Your right wing angry male soap opera needed some new material. I think Gov. Rod has the secret whitey tapes and the REAL Obama birth certificate. That is why Rahm wanted to get rid of him.
See I can do it too. You guys are so lamely predictable and still have no idea why you have turned off the majority of America. ...How can you talk about governing and new ideas when you are locked in your soap opera dramas. Turn off the radio and start fixing your own party.
"That's because there are so few Republicans in Illinois."
I suppose you think that all those Democrats elected George Ryan governor just so that they could have a corrupt Republican to catch, right?
As far as wondering why so soon, a rational person would realize that Obama wanted him gone before he could appoint a new Senator in exchange for kickbacks. A fevered wingnut would probably realize that there is some conspiracy there that they could probably tie to Obama, even though Obama and the Governor and Obama didn't like each other, didn't campaign for each other and basically had no associations other than what their official duties would require.
BUT THAT'S JUST PART OF THEIR CONSPIRACY, YOU SEE! DON'T YOU GET IT!!!!1!!1!11!ONE!!!
"I knew as sure as the sun comes up in the morning that you radical rightists would be immediately moving to connect Obama to this."
As a resident of Chicago, I've been warning you guys about Chicago machine politics for a while. The people nationally, completely naive, have no idea what they're getting into with Tony Rezko, Rahmbo, Reverend Wright, Jesse Jackson, Danny Davis, Bobby Rush, Dick Turban, Comrade Daley, Farrakhan, and the rest of the assholes that live here. They're all on the same team and, all sharing the collectivist philosophy, function as collective unit. The only surprise I have is that Blagojevich actually got caught.
In other words, if you think Blagojevich is just one bad apple, and Chicago is example of good government, you have no idea what you're talking about. The Holy Messiah himself won his first election by getting his opponents kicked off the ballot.
well done Jason
I can see it coming again a mile away -- "He's NOT the Rod Blagojevich I knew!"
Who will be next?
"He's not the Todd Stroger I knew!" "He's not the Rahm Emmanuel I knew!" "He's not the Jesse Jackson Jr. I knew!"
Sometimes, you just have to laugh at this stuff.
Check this out -- David Asshole-rod, the Messiah's campaign manager, admits Obama talked to Blagojevich about his Senate seat replacement.
Jason, your guilt by association is exactly, pinpoint, spot on,nail on the head, perfect example of what I am talking about. Again you guys prove you have no idea why people disdain you.
Yes, they were REALLY REALLY close, which is why Blagojevich felt comfortable enough to call him a mother-effer on the wiretaps. That is just a Chicago term of endearment, right?
"That is just a Chicago term of endearment, right?"
well, yeah
particularly in certain parts of town
"Again you guys prove you have no idea why people disdain you."
Geez, you really *do* believe in magical Hopenchange, don't you. You haven't been this lenient with the GOP over the last eight years.
You're going to like Tony Rezko's trial.
unfortunately, jason would seem to have the inside scoop, on the next wave of thieves to dominate our headlines, thanks to barky
Jason, I was not for Obama originally. I was for the guy that got nookie on the side...notice how everybody is NOT identified by their ideas or vision? People have had enough mud pal. Its time to stop playing soap opera and fix SOMETHING. This is serious business kids and if you want to keep making mud pies go ahead but the adults are busy.
The DEMS are the adults...lmfao...wow, that was a good one...
And what will they do?
Be the ACTUAL ones to give out coorperate welfare?
Retreat in Iraq?
Open our borders to everyone and anyone?
Punish the successful by raising their taxes?
Expand govt to take care of more people who have learned to be helpless?
I didn't say the dems, I said the adults game. That would be the people that are not involved in mudpies but actual solving of problems...whatever the party. Don't make assumtions game.
I'll debate the rest of your wacky assumptions another point.
Another point has come.
Corporate welfare? Nothing passes without Republicans going along(you know,60 votes in the senate) so it's not one sided game. Who doesn't want corporations to pay taxes but thinks in all other respects they are 'persons' under the law?
No requirements were given to cut the wages of wall street workers or hotshots but when it comes to blue collar workers we must have cuts. Who gives tax breaks, buildings, land and everything else to foreign companies to locate in their state but thinks helping US companies is corporate welfare?
Who ginned up fear and two wars that have cost us hundreds of billions of dollars and cost hundreds of thousands of lives, debatating injuries, broken families, divison and anamosity and then(I think intentionally) couldn't win the damned things in nearly a decade?
Who yells to build a wall and then complains about 'protectionism'?
Who pushed to end tariffs and then shipped good paying jobs overseas only to use huge amounts of vanishing energy to ship goods half way around the world to people who are less and less able to afford them because their good paying jobs are gone?
Whos economic plan begins and ends with lower taxes and no minimum wage? Thinks that the free market can succeed as 'self regulating'.
Who thinks we should have little or no government when there is no country in the world that they can point to like that that is a model of success? Sudan? Somolia?
Who is it that thinks we must give up our freedoms to keep the bad guys from taking it?
Who is it who thinks healthcare is a proper burden of business?
Who is it who thinks people who can't afford it should be demeaned as bums or should not have it at all? Just let'em suffer, right? No, that's not elitist.
Who is it who thinks drilling for a vanishing, expensive resource is a better use of our time and money than putting that money and effort toward a sustainable future?
Well, the answer is that neither side is free of guilt. But the politicans and citizens that support this idiocy are the who. Regardless of party. I don't know why you guys want to make this like a football game. Neither side is free of responsibilty but the longer we define ourselves with labels and stick to them the worse it will get. You guys appear to be unable to think outside of partisan boundries. Country first? What a joke. I don't belive that for a minute. I don't want to live in your sick, twisted soap opera. You make me laugh and then cry. Get me a ticket and a passport and I'm outta here. You can have it because the 'whos' have ruined it beyond repair.
"Who gives tax breaks, buildings, land and everything else to foreign companies to locate in their state but thinks helping US companies is corporate welfare?..."
i don't approve of it, but i also acknowledge government should be limited in the amount of control it has over it
but i understand your vehemence, it is in response to a foolhardy, imprudent policy, foisted on us by the myth of free trade, a reagan/clinton holdover totally ill-suited to fighting our contemporary trade wars
now, can you understand that many of us "infidels" do not regard the specter of our remaining industries nationalized, by "central planners"?
'Cause, this is just compounding the original sin, instead of mitigating its damages...
"Who yells to build a wall and then complains about 'protectionism'?"
not i, because i LOVE walls! they WORK!
so does protectionism, when applied sanely
"Who is it that thinks we must give up our freedoms to keep the bad guys from taking it?"
not i, but don't you understand that responding to the patriot act, which HAD a few practical advantages that probably has saved lives, by worshiping a charismatic charlatan, so egomaniacal, he creates seals and never-existent departments to celebrate his fabulousness, is just as insane?
"Who is it who thinks healthcare is a proper burden of business?"
I don't know, ron, convincing arguments can be made for both sides....i can tell you, that the barkster's pathetic attempts at healthcare reform will not, and will never be, single-payer...so
consider even a revamp of what he's put forth so far to be grossly inefficient and unfundable to meet the healthcare needs of americans...
"Who is it who thinks people who can't afford it should be demeaned as bums or should not have it at all? Just let'em suffer, right? No, that's not elitist."
depends on who your "bums" are
are they criminal-minded?
i don't believe in attempting to rehabilitate criminals
but where i live has more homeless than anywhere, and i can tell you the shelter system only works in good times, not in bad
"Who is it who thinks drilling for a vanishing, expensive resource is a better use of our time and money than putting that money and effort toward a sustainable future?"
I DO! I've seen firsthand the amount of control liberals want to exert on the lives of their countrymen...that is the greater threat right now.
i believe alternative fuels, solar, wind, etc. are fantastic and should be full-speed ahead, but the main objective should be energy independence from all foreign nations, even "friendlies"
"Get me a ticket and a passport and I'm outta here..."
unfortunately, you may be hard-pressed to find a country willing to take you (serious)
unlike america, most other sovereign nations limit immigration, so as to ensure their own citizenry's needs are first taken care of
why not stick around? trust me, you're going to see a lot of different paradigms, hopefully a fundamental shift in values, maybe a turn for the worse
other nations are in trouble too, there are few escapes, man up and see what develops
