Bush declares a 'state of emergency' in Washington as cost of Obama's swearing-in ceremony soars to £110m

just showing more liberal hypocricy...they scream just to scream...they can't possibly actually mean it or they would be mad about Obama doing it...

Bush spends too much

spend, spend, spend

i don't recall such a fuss over any inauguration in my life, and it IS criminal, the amounts of money being spent, and the ostentatiousness and self-indulgence of it all

but, then again, i found the fuss over reagan's funeral idiotic and wasteful...could it be that one irresponsible, politically partisan spending spree sets us up for the next?

actually I don't care...its a big deal and I would rather have the money spent on this then hand out 700 billion to people when it will do nothing to fix the economy.

I'm just bringing up liberal hypocricy and fake outrage.

Is anyone here actually going to watch it?

I might watch the actual swearing in, but not the rest of the media feeding frenzy...which practically means, my media blackout has to start tonight!

(The commercials and the programming teasers are the worst of all, I think.)

I never had any interest in all these ceremonial stuff. All it matters is - what they actually do in terms of policies. If you ask me - any money/time spent on these symbolic stuff is a waste. Then again - it's both sides - no saints here.

The cost is justified. A lot of suckers to account for.

All our money is just made up...based on nothing. It means nothing. The non government fed decides how much there is or isn't. Every dollar comes off the presses with a debt to them(fed) for you to use it. Really, the whole money thing is just a game to enrich and move assetts the already super rich. I don't like it but is is the real world we live in...fake money. Before you argue with me I would suggest you look into the fed and international banking. I don't have the time nor do I want to take up the space to explain it to you. Nor do I care if you prefer to live in ignorance.

Our money is based on nothing but it isn't worth nothing. I would like to have my dollar buy the same thing, or close to the same thing, it did last year. Printing more makes my dollar worth less...and since I earned mine and it wasn't just given to me I care a bit more about it.

Dude, your getting nasty on people less fortunate these days(and there's more and more everyday). I'm trying to tell you how you AND the less elite both are being screwed and you use it to smash the poor. Is money the only thing that gives people value? Sad to be you my friend.
Take my advice and study the Fed. See what they really are and how they do it. Read a summary at least of "Confessions of an Economic hit man" . You are missing the point.

If you like conventional explainations then supply is determined by productivity. US citizens kick everybodys ass. Demand is done by those kick ass workers wages, which corporations and boneheads either strive to eliminate completely or lower. I know in your government world of pay that may not be relevant but for those of us that live in the world of no government guarantees it is irritating and is actually taking money out of other businesses pockets..no or low wages is not good for a consumer economy. get it?
