Compromise gives Milwaukee nearly 40% of road stimulus dollars

I hope they do not waste these dollars...
There are so many roads in Milwaukee that are like off-roading...

OK, according to the link, we’re talking 40% of 38.7 million dollars. That’s about 15.5 mill. I don’t know how familiar you are with major road construction, but you’re talking maybe 1.5 to 5 miles of major construction. Towards the 1.5 mark if it’s a high usage, high intersection stretch of road. And towards the 5 mile mark if it’s a low usage, no intersection roadway.

I have clients that build roads and intersections; you would not believe what a contractor has to go through in order to build an intersection or roadway. They are forced to use government (read county or state workers) during construction. Think back on all road projects you’ve ever seen while commuting about your daily business. Whenever you see scores of workers standing around doing nothing while we all patiently wait our turn to pass through the congestion, you’re seeing a worker on the government dole.

Of course this is Obama’s vision of “putting Americans to work”. Slack-ass gov’t workers doing a slack-ass job.Imagine that kind of money put into the hands of a true Entrepreneur, versus feeding said funds into the maws of a bureaucracy!

Obama knows exactly what he’s doing! There will be many in the media, and in the politics of Milwaukee that will hold this bureaucratic infusion as a good thing, as “just the medicine to cure the recession we’re in”.

I ask, no beg, you all to consider that feeding and growing the beast that is government bureaucracies, is not the best way to heal the financial woes of this country.
