Final comments on the Wisconsin State Fair

The best 11 days of the year is over. There are many reasons this is the best 11 days of the year. It is a chance to eat and drink everything you want. It is a chance to bring the whole family together and enjoy a common activity. It is a chance to see people you only see during this time. It is a chance to take off of work and have more fun than you have the rest of the year. I saw a Monkey, midgets, strippers, women trying to get backstage and jumberjills just to name a few. Of course after 11 days I am quite tired and happy to go back to a "regular" schedule, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. I love working there, love seeing everyone, love taking care of the acts, love eating all the food, love going out with people afterward, love all of it. The fair changes all the time. Some changes for the better, many not. None of that matters. What matters is that you remember how lucky you are to have such great opportunities. No matter what changes the fair makes in years to come, as long as certain people are still there, I'll be coming back. There is no need to worry about things you cant control. I try my best to focus on the positive things about the fair, which is a long list. If you did not get a chance to have deep fried P, B & J, a cream puff, chocolate covered bacon, Saz's, a corn dog, cheddar nuggets, walk through the expo hall, almost buy a hot tub, listen to a band, have a drink with family and friends...well, then you missed out. Maybe next year you will make the choice to enjoy one of the best events in Wisconsin. See ya next year!!!
