Background checks offend NAACP

Inquiry of evacuees called 'out of order,' given situation

Here are a few quotes from the article:

"Those people have gone through enough," said Jerry Ann Hamilton, president of the Milwaukee chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. "If you're not going to welcome them with open arms to this city, you should have left them alone.

"It was a very cursory check designed to identify anybody with an outstanding felony warrant," said Rod McWilliams, spokesman for the Milwaukee County executive's office. "We were also looking for people on the sex offender rolls, not that they'd be turned away, but it's common sense: You don't want to house someone with that type of offense in a dorm full of kids."

I don't know...it seems to make perfect sense. If someone didn't commit a crime, why should they care if they have to give their name and date of birth? I had to have a background check to work at almost every job I have ever had. I was not offended, but I also had nothing to hide....and neither do 90% of these people.

Can we knock it off with the race card already.

It is also a fact that: Police in Aurora, Colo., found that more than 50 of the more than 800 people displaced by the hurricane to shelters there had felony convictions, but none was wanted on active warrants.

I guess the point is, don't be a criminal. Is that too much to ask?

Due to the background checks, sex offenders and child molesters were kicked out of the shelter in Milwaukee. This protected how many innocent people? And that is a bad thing? Shame on you, NAACP !

This is typical behavior of those who have enjoyed 'special rights' in this country for far too long. These 'special rights' Democrat programs do not encourage people to be self reliant, responsible Americans. They encourage, dependent, demanding behaviors.

Ron, why don't you tell us the next liberal program that will make it worse...how do you think we should change it.

game you have obviously, by your own admission, stated that whatever I say will be opposed as wrong without any fore/post thought. Sounds like a waste of time to me.
