A few Democrats that were incumbants kept their seats...that is a big news story now a days....what happened way back when a Democrat was in the White House and he ACTUALLY did have a bad day:
Eight years ago, when a Democrat was President and Republicans won the governorships in New Jersey and Virginia, CBS Evening News anchor Dan Rather gave the results a piddling 12 seconds, didn't even utter the names of the winners and made clear that local issues -- “the high cost of automobile insurance and a tax on car ownership” -- were “the key issues.” But on Wednesday night, the same newscast gave a minute and thirty seconds to the election results which included names as anchor Bob Schieffer inserted an ideological label into his description of Virginia: “In New Jersey, Democrat Jon Corzine won one of the nastiest races ever. He'll be the next Governor there. And in conservative country, Virginia, another Democrat, Tim Kaine, won the Governor's race there.” Gloria Borger then declared that “this was not a great night for President Bush, particularly in the state of Virginia.” She cited how “he went in and he campaigned for the Republican candidate for Governor who lost, and, Bob, this was a state the President himself won by eight points in the last election." Borger ignored a basic fact which undermines her analysis: The Democratic candidate for Governor of Virginia won in 2001 when Bush's approval rating, just two months after 9/11, was over 80 percent.
What is the difference in the two stories?

OK, I checked the entire posting including the title and couldn't find a link to your source on your "facts" regarding the Rather broadcast eight years ago. Did you tape it?

It's not lame at all. Why should I take your word for it?
I'll reluctantly accept your source. It could be that the circumstances at the two different times were not comparable. It could be that today's story involves the campaigning by Bush for the VA Republic candidate which proved unsuccessful. It could be that both campaigns were very nasty. It could be that together both sides in NJ spent $70 million.
Lots of reasons besides bias. It's not bias just because somebody claims it is.
What is the story here anyway? That some dems KEPT their seats...8 years ago Republicans TOOK seats...it isn't the same story...the one 8 years ago is MORE important
Totally a matter of opinion. I think it's newsworthy that Bush's last-minute campaigning for VA Republican did no good.

Weirder than weird...today I received an email from the left media. It was a solicitation for support, on behalf of the elected Democrat VA governor. Appears that some Virginians aren't very pleased with the way this gov elect led them to believe he was pro-life, when the facts are....he really isn't.
Nope, no support from here. That should teach the Virginians not to ever trust a Democrat again, ever! They should have known. It's not rocket science. After the Clinton lie infested years....'I cannot tell the truth, it is against my religion, Bill'...they should have known better. Some people set themselves up for heartache, over and over and over. Geez, learn the hard way.
This is common...Democrats have to pretend they are more conservative than they are, otherwise they would NEVER win anything...
Also, it looks like Bush is back on track, he has to set the record straight, because we sure as hell know the media won't challenge anything the left says.
