I'll post, you decide

BEST OF 2005

Best movie: Star Wars: Episode III
Best comedy: Waiting...
Best TV show: Nip/Tuck
Best sporting event: "The average Joe winning it all" The White Sox, Patriots, and Spurs really have no stars on them....no one dancing around like an idiot. It was nice to see TEAMS win the championships this year.

I am very, very interested to see what we get on this one...
Everyone give your answers...and tell all your friends to get in here this week and give an opinion...I think I'll leave this on top all week...

I can't remember any 2005 movies I saw AT the movies in 2005 except Valiant and SWIII. Actually SWIII was very good. I just don't remember anything that REALLY impressed me.

Comedy? Nothing makes me laugh like The Daily Show.

Sporting event? UC Berkeley beats BYU in the Las Vegas Bowl.

Also great comedy--Arrested Development.

Hey, John Stewart makes fun of Dean and Kerry, too! It's just that W and BO give him so much more material to work with.

I liked the daily show better with Craig Kilbourn.

Arrested Development is good.
Mind of mencia gets old because EVERY joke is about race...keep em coming

Best Movie: Sin City
Best Comedy: Real Time
Best TV Show: Deadwood/LOST
Best Sporting Event: Indianapolis 500

I say we all observe a moment of silence for Chappelle's Show. Real Time gets the nod because its still on, and it commits to getting a well rounded point of view...something which the hard core news shows never accomplish, e.g. Hannity and Colmes or Hard Line.

Movie: Serenity
Comedy: According to Jim
TV Show: Extreme Makeover - Home Edition
Sporting Event: The Sox winning the World Series

I did liked Chappelle's Show (sorry steph)...but from the beginning I knew that he would run out of ways to say the N word and OKAY...it was funny, but not much more he can do..

It was the sheer insanity that propelled that show, not the use of the word nigger. Its impossible to exert that kind of mental energy. I look forward to his stand-ups.

Best show: Either Nip/Tuck or Rescue Me.

Hard to believe we agree on something, Game...

Oh God! Asking me to remember something specific to one year is like pulling teeth.

Was Lord of the Rings III, the return of the King in 2005? If it was, that's the best movie of the year. In fact, the best movie I've seen in a loooong time.

I don't watch TV sitcoms ususally but I recently discovered re runs of Dharma and Greg and I think they are funny.

Best TV show, hands down, "Who's Line is it Anyway" Makes me laugh so hard I tear up and can't stop.

Sporting event? Has to be the World Series. I am not a Chicago fan but who wouldn't appreciate the end of such a long streak?

There are a lot of good suggestions here.

For me, the "best sporting event" was being at Lambeau when Reggie White's number was retired.

Technically, it wasn't a sporting event, but a ceremony during halftime.

The Pack lost to Cleveland that day. What a nightmare!

What a horrible season! I'm too depressed to answer the rest right now.

Nah, y'all wrong...best sporting event was the National Professional Paintball League Super 7 Commander's Cup in Miami two weeks before Thanksgiving.
