From the Drudge Report:
SOURCE: Bush set to go on offense Monday re the economy; hit Dems for seeking to raise taxes ... Developing...
I want people to comment on Bush's new strategy. His old strategy was to try and kiss up to everyone, and because of it he got drilled by everyone.
He is standing up for himself and his positions....think you have to go back to Reagan to see this. I can't say Clinton or Bush Sr. were this aggressive. I don't want smack talk saying Bush is just trying to cover up his lies or that he sucks....please, stick to the question about his strategy.
Personally I love the strategy...but partially because I think he is correct. I believe the war is going much better than the media believes, I believe the economy is so great because of tax cuts....but like I said, focus on the strategy.

It could help Republicans if packaged correctly.
If the focus is on taxes, the administration will open itself up to arguments about 'tax and spend' versus 'spend and spend', along with rhetoric about campaign contributors and cronies.
If the focus is on keeping the prosperity going and jobs, Republicans will have a lot going for them. The public perception of the economy needs to be strong, so we shouldn't hear "tax cuts will save us from our crappy situation" but "things are good, let us keep them good."
In the big picture, focus on the economy is useless without getting on message on Iraq. The only thing saving Bush on that issue right now is the lack of a coherent argument coming from the Democratic side.
well done jason...nice to see you here
