Breaking down the AP story

I'm going to paste part of this story in here and comment part by part. I think this whole story shows how the Left is CONSTANTLY playing politics.

Democrats argue that the former Reagan administration lawyer is likely to tip the court's balance to the right in replacing centrist Justice Sandra Day O'Connor. The Left is supposed to be "tolerant." The Right is in power, so the constitution allows them to make decisions. If the Left had better ideas, they would win elections and get to nominate Supreme Court justices. In addition, when Clinton nominated far Left thinking judges...they were confirmed to the supreme court with VERY few Republicans voting no. That is because the Right respects the constitution and does not make EVERY single issue a partisan battle. It should make everyone sick.

Instead, they are seeking to slow Alito's ascension by demanding that the Judiciary Committee's chairman, Sen. Arlen Specter, R-Pa., delay the panel's vote a week. The asked him questions for 18 hours...what do they want to find out? He is a conservative. He has gotten the highest rating for the ABA. He is qualified. Ginsburg was confirmed by the Right 96-3.

Democrats on Thursday made no progress eliciting information more damaging or even personal than Alito's previous comments, despite peppering him on right-to-die cases, affirmative action, presidential power and ethics. This tells me that there is nothing wrong with him, and they have to try and trick him or FIND something wrong with what he said. This is truly pathetic. Maybe they can find some pubic hair on a coke or something...even though I heard Alito drinks Dr. Pepper.
