A few thoughts from the latest poll

More people in this country now rate Iran as the biggest threat to the U.S., 27 percent, than say that about any other country, including North Korea, China and Iraq, according to the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press.
I am sad to see that I have put many posts up explaining how radical Islam is by far, the greatest threat to the Free world, and really no one seems to care. I really hope this is not the Nazi's of our time. There are cartoons about the pope, Jesus and Jews all over the place. I have not had the urge to throw a rock through a window or kill someone because of it. But our enemy does. I am almost certain we will allow this to grow and grow until it might be too late. These people do not think like us, they can not be reasoned with, period. As long as we try to play nice nice with them, we will be on the fast track to destruction.

People are split on promoting more nuclear power, with 44 percent favoring it and 49 percent opposed.
What is the problem with nuclear energy. There has never been an accident from a nuclear power plant in the US, NEVER.....
Here is another example of the environmentalist yelling about nothing. If it were up to them, we would have no electricity, no cars, no houses, really....no people. People mess up the environment. So, crazy people want us to use ethanol in our gas, which ruins the environment more, not thin out forests, which causes more forest fires, and not use nuclear power, which has NEVER caused a problem in this country. Road block after road block put up to delay success and prosperity.

Even liberals seem to understand what a danger Iran's apocalyptic government is. Instead of STOP THE WAR NOW, the left only mumbles about our forces stretched thin, or makes sarcastic comments about not being surprised.

I suspect the left will be secretly thanking us after we take out the trash in Iran. Allah is Great, but Mig29's with poorly trained pilots cannot stop the B-2 Spirit Stealth Bomber or the F-22 Raptor from bringing Persia a stone-age environment to go with their stone-age worldview.

"There has never been an accident from a nuclear power plant in the US, NEVER."

We'll, if we don't consider the partial meltdown at Three Mile Island in 1979, though that reactor was shortly brought back under control.

To be more correct, radicals of any kind are a threat to world peace. We've just bumped up radicals who practice Islam over those radicals who profess communism. Dont forget that the radicals fo this country and Christian faith have all the damage records after 9/11. Which nut is going to move in next door to me is far more threatening than what some stone throwers are doing half the world away.

jason...there was no radiation leak...there was ALMOST a problem there..

Rhyno, correct except when the Muslims have another 9-11 and you are there

Not so. I mean, really, if you want to talk dumb statistics, you have a greater chance of dying on the shitter than you do of a terrorist attack. That aside, home grown terrorists are far more likely to be a threat than foreign dark people. That doesnt even take into account the financial damage caused by our own terrorists, right here.
Jason, I missed something. Who is against nuclear power? There arent that many people against it, on principle. However, it ranks at the top of the list for NIMBY issues.

Environmentalists and stupid people, mostly... Not the responsible ones, just the nutjobs and the uneducated. Actually the biggest obstacle to widespread adoption of nuclear power in the U.S. is that nobody can agree on where to store the waste... everybody says, "not in my back yard." But the problem is that everywhere is somebody's back yard. So the obstacle is mostly political, but it's not really a partisain or lib/con issue. Well, that's not entirely true, the only place where nuke power is absolutely rejected in principle is in liberal circles, but even there, it's not (so far as I can tell) widespread.

Oh, and don't try to play the "everyone's just as dangerous" card. That kind of ignorant thinking will get you killed.

What's happening across Europe and the rest of the muslim world is significant to us, maybe not "today" as in who lives next door (I agree with you on that point, rhyno).

The danger to us is the social and political winds behind it. Just in the last few days the president of the EU suggested censorship and restrictions on the free press (making it no longer free) in Europe to avoid offending muslims. This is a tremendous victory for the islamists' goal of forcibly converting or enslaving the world. This is a surrender of freedom to the forces of totalitarianism, nothing less.

Free societies cannot be taken over or subdued by direct force. Germany and Japan learned that lesson very expensively some sixty years ago. No, the conversion from a strong and healthy free society to dictatorship will happen only by slow, subtle means. Step by step, line upon line... A little bit here, a small step there. This is what is happening to Europe, and will inevitably follow across the pond unless we take an active, determined role in preventing it.
