My main question is: Who cares?
The 5 movies nominated for supposed "best picture" have not been seen by almost anyone. Star Wars made more money in 15 days than all these movies combined.
I know, I know, we the American people are too stupid to know what good movies are....well, hopefully we are not so stupid that we watch this crap Sunday night.
You have a very obvious Bush hater hosting it, and many, many people who hate Bush attending...even better, most of them have about as much talent as 99% of the people on American Idol.
So why would you watch something that a vast celebrates a product that more and more people are not going to see (because more are more movies are flat out terrible) and the ones that are supposed to be the best are seen by no one...
I'm sure I'll find something better to do...

I must watch so I know which celebrities to boycott and to hear their asinine opinions on world affairs. Thank God I have TIVO and can blip right over the boring crap, which is almost everything.
see, I don't even want to do that...because I might want to go to a movie and not be forced to remember what a complete raging idiot all the people on the screen are...
I am not interested in and haven't been for a long time concerning this preening, narcissistic event.
Fudgepack Mountain will probably win it, but it doesn't matter. Hollywood only nominates movies that promote their Liberal moonbat agenda. They are irrelavant.
I won't go see Fudgepack Mountain. I have no interest in watching two guys having sex.
1) Brokeback Mountain isnt about 2 guys having sex. It only is to homophobes.
2) If you think the Star Wars movies arent Liberal, you got a simple life ahead of you.
3) I am not sure what to think of EH calling something preening and narcissistic.
4) Just because someone is a Bush hater, doesnt mean they arent funny. Jay Leno is NOT a Bush hater, but he still gets in some of the best zingers of Bush on late night.
5) You guys are totally fulfilling the stereotype that conservatives are artistically retarded. No offense, but narrow-mindedness and fear of change arent compatible with any art form.
6) I still dont think Brokeback Mountain should win, but none of the nominees are really stellar. It could happen. Though, if it does, I think it will be because they want to piss a lot of people off.
Rhyno,
an actor needs to have a clean slate on the screen when we watch them...otherwise we can not see past all there liberal non-sense. That is my problem..
My other problem is that more and more movies suck...
Yes, star wars has liberal tones in it, but I like it...there ya go...I like something liberal...your turn to like something conservative.
other liberals I like:
dane cook (not sure if he is)
pat McCurdy
Conan
Bon Jovi- yes, my favorite band has a super vocal liberal lead singer...
I was talking about Stewart. Since, I am not a Liberal, I give the following 'likes'.
I dated a couple conservative chicks in a row a few years back.
I thought I made it clear I like Leno.
Ann Coulter would be ten times hotter if she wouldnt talk.
I voted for Bush Sr.
I voted for Tommy Thompson, twice.
I dont really pay any attention to people's politics, so I am not sure who else I like thats conservative.
Take Leno off if you are saying he is conservative...he just isn't a huge flamming liberal...and yes, in my story I did use the wrong "there"..."their"
I'm kinda torn as well, because as much as Hollywood fully represents the idea of "too weird to make up" when it comes to their ideas...Seriously the big thing in the gossip columns the other day was that Tom Cruise wanted to name his illegitimate child after the founder of scientology... Oh, and a quick google search for "tom cruise baby name" shows that casinos are taking bets on what the name will be...
It's good for the amusement factor.
On the other hand, I agree with Game, that I'd rather go to, for instance, a future Tom Cruise movie an be able to enjoy it (or not) as a standalone entity, having nothing to do with what a waste of oxygen Tom is off-screen.
Tough call... Maybe I'll just get the highlights later...like watching the super bowl commercials online during a break at work and having a meaningful conversation over a chess game with a good friend during the "big game"
