"We support the troops....now get home"

Here is a man "supporting our troops" liberal style (and this guy 's sign shows the realy reason the Left says they support the troops)
Support for the troops conservative style

This still does not make any sense to me.

I have a good friend going to Iraq in about 3 weeks. If started telling him how this is an unjust war, and maybe show him some pics from Abu Ghraib and say the war is a disaster and a failure....then top it off by saying he really shouldn't even go and just stay home....

Lets see, I don't think he would believe I was very supportive of him, would he?

Left, you can't have your cake and eat it too. If you think this war is a failure and should stop, that is your position. However, you then can not try and look like you think we should even have a military and say you support the troops....because you flat out do not.

I hate it when one of the left of left says to me... after a short bitch session... "and I'm a Veteran too!!!"

My answer to them is simple... I've fished many Bass Tournaments in my life, but that doesn't make me right about everything on Tournament Fishing... Does it???
Great post Game...

Doesn't make you wrong either, aubreyj.

Sorry Jason, your comments bear no relation to reality for so many reasons.

The reason thinking people, liberals and conservatives support withdrawal from Iraq is that the possibility for a "military solution" are long past. The Iraqis must solve their problems politically.

Liberals are not against religious fundamentalism. Some American fundamentalists are liberal, politically. Domestically, Liberals and conservatives are against religious fundamentalism having influence over government and scientific policies. Internationally, liberals and conservatives are against religious fundamentalists who engage in or support terrorist acitivities. They are against countries denying human and civil rights to women and all citizens, too, but they're not for invading or bombing them FOR THAT or else we'd be bombing half the population of the world.

Jim --

You may not be against religious fundamentalism, but I am. We've progressed too far just to throw in the towel and retreat to the dark ages.

If we leave Iraq prematurely, the religious fundies take over in Iraq and kill everybody. If we stay and gradually withdraw, the Iraqis can take care of the problem on their own. Ethically, it is our duty to make sure the democrats remain in charge, not the religious wackos.

Religious fundamentalism is OK as long as it does not have political power. That goes for "over there" and "over here".

Ah, so liberals are all for human rights, but only when they don't have to actually do anything about it?

How exactly does one stop genocide, systematic starvation, and slavery without forcibly removing the offenders who don't care what you think of them, and are members of the pointless U.N. human rights comission?
