Milwaukee near bottom for graduation rates

Why is this?
Why do only 45% graduate?
Is it because the kids do not have internet access?

Liberals answer:
They are underprivileged, they do not have the proper resources. They are the victims of racism. The schools do not do their job.

The correct answer:
They come from bad homes. When there are teacher conferences, I get 12 parents out of 100. They come from a community that does not value being a parent, being a responsible citizen, the importance of school, reading, getting a good job, being successful. These are all FACTS that liberals and the media are too scared to admit. Ask anyone who actually deals with these kids and you will get the same CORRECT answer.

Yet, it is the left that perpetuates this cycle of failure with handouts and excuses. And it is the Left that these people all vote for, ironic?.....I'm sorry, if you came from MPS you don't know what that word means.

Hm. According to the conservative trolls at my site, the teachers are to blame.

I agree with you that we need fundamental change in the community. Milwaukee's education problem is a Milwaukee problem, not a school problem.

Where I disagree is that we do need to address issues of poverty, unemployment, transience, and more in the community. I'm not talking "handouts," but real social and economic reform that none of our elected officials seems to have the guts--or the credibility--to talk about.

What is going to work Jay?
Really? I would love for something to work...sad to say the ONLY thing I see working is for black leaders to start talking like Bill Cosby and less like Al Sharpton
