Sen. Lazich: Livid that Sex Offender Billy Lee Morford Has Been Traveling to Franklin for the Past 18 Months

Why do we let this issue stay the way it is?
This is just like immigration on atleast one level.
There is a big problem and we do nothing to solve it.

And why is it when Jessica's law or any other law that tries to make it harder on sex offenders tries to get passed....the Left and ACLU work to make sure it never happens?

Why can't these people have tracking devices on them? They are NOT normal criminals. A VAST majority do NOT get better, and they do it again.

If you think they are normal...than I guess you are mad that there are lists pointing out where these people live...maybe you think they all deserve two, three and four chances.

Why do we turn a blind eye to this???

"Why do we turn a blind eye to this???"

It is the left's doctrine of the "real me." The real me is an immaculate conception, untouched by human conduct. The left thinks every human being has an unassailable core of virtue that enables people to do anything and still retain their rights and self-respect. In their interpretation, bodies and environments make people do things, and conscious people never do anything. As Jean-Jacques Rousseau, the left's spiritual father put it, "Man is born free, and everywhere he is in chains." "Authentic" (Heidegger's buzzword) people are good, and artificial materialistic society is bad.

This also explains why leftists think siding with the enemy at home has no effect where fighting occurs, since they think the fighting is a unthinking result of zombies manifesting greedy capitalist conditions. It is inconceivable in leftist minds that an enemy fighter on the verge of giving up may push himself to keep going after being inspired by *their* actions, but it happened in Vietnam and it happens today.

I was not trying to focus on the Left with this story, but I can not begin to understand why Democrats all over the country keep voting down Jessica's law bills and other bills that would add years to sex offenders punishments and make it harder for them to take off after they have been released

I actually do have some objections to the lists, and here's why: the laws regarding who must register are way too strict. The stories are all too numerous of things like a 14 year old boy and girl having sex, someone finding out about it, and then putting the boy through adult criminal proceedings, and forcing him to register as a sex offender. This is WAY too harsh of a societal punishment for teenagers being stupid.

I don't think anybody who isn't married should be having sex, so I am in no way defending their behavior, but to permanently and inflexably brand these people lifelong criminals is crual and unusal.

If there were more common sense in the assigning of punishments, then I would wholeheartedly support stiffer pentalies for the truly derranged.

So called "Zero tolerance" policies regarding drugs and weapons in schools are exactly the same. A kid that gets expelled from school for bringing a bag of powdered sugar (among other ingredients) for Home Ec class, or a pair of scissors to use in art class?!?! Only the government could be that unapoligetically stupid.

Point made...
I wonder if these are a majority of the cases...
It seems like this might be a case where you protect very few people and put many many more in danger...

But I can see a provision being added where the sex offender list only has adults who attack kids or something like that

The current Jessica's Law proposal which has been killed in the legislature deals with two time convictions of sexual assault of a minor. Hardly a case of boy meets girl.

What we're talking about is SEX PREDATORS. They are legally judged to "more likely than not to reoffend." They can't be cured.

The issue is how the state treats these "guys" and keeps track of them.

The democrats, led by Jimbo are working to kill all this legislation. First victim of the Dem's is cancelling the $1.4 million for the pervert palace. Doyle is expected to veto it soon. The second casualty is Jessica's Law which is already dead. The third is a bill that requires ACTIVE GPS monitoring of various classes of sex offenders and ALL predators. It's passed committee but the bureacrats are starting their spin with HUGE numbers that are totally incorrect.
