There is no other way to say it.
Anyone saying a wall will not stop illegal immigration is completely stupid, period....it makes NO SENSE to say it.
The reason they do is because they are too scared to support a wall, so they just say it doesn't work as if it is fact.
This is a no brainer...if you are against a wall, be against it because you think it sends a bad message or because you like illegal immigration for the Democratic votes...but stop being stupid and saying it doesn't stop illegals from crossing...

There is another aspect of this that I don't think a lot see, or have even thought of.
A wall makes us isolationist again. Think about the Berlin Wall, and other walls that have come down in the last 15 years or so. They are communistic countries that had walls.
For this reason, I think it sends a bad message.
Yes, it would work, BUT, at what cost?
There is no doubt you have a point...a legit point...and that can be debated..
but that is not really what people are saying...
They WANT to say that, but instead they say that the wall will not work...but I think it is very clear that it would keep illegals out...

Ok. Let me put it to you like this:
Everything's in place:
1) A wall
2) Wiretapping your own people & spying on them
3) You're busted, according to the law, for saying anything at all against the gov't or for "dissent"
Hhmmm... sounds like I'm talking about China & Russia.

What they need to do, game, is get the border patrol that they already have in place, to get up off their asses & do something. Do what they're paid for.
Oh wait, the u.s. allowed the problem to grow so big in the first place.
Now, the u.s. is whining about it.
I'm whining about it, but then I have been for the last 20-odd years, back when they very first started "allowing" it to happen.
How about they just get up off their asses and do their jobs with our tax money? That would at least make a good dent in it.
No, a wall's not absolutely necessary. But for the American public to expect the people it hired to do their jobs is. Absolutely, totally, necessary, and more than high time.

when there is evidence that the govt is listening to phone calls of regular, everyday Americans who have nothing to do with terrorism, then I might listen...right now comments like that are simply political opportunism and hypocrisy

I'd have no problem with the Nat'l Guard patrolling the border, if they'd actually do something.

I'm saying we pay for people to do something about illegals, yet they don't do a damned thing.
We don't need a wall. We need to get what we pay for. We need to get these guys up off their asses and do something. What makes you think that if they had a wall, snipers would do anything? They don't without one!

Not to mention all of the border patrol agents that have been bribed over the last 30 yrs & have made a helluva lot of $ doing it.
