CBS Jumps on "Bad News" for GOP & Hope for Dems, But Not So Excited in 1994

Bob Schieffer led Tuesday's CBS Evening News by heralding “bad news for the Republicans”in a new CBS News/New York Times poll and suggesting the new poll portends “a dramatic shift in the political landscape” with approval of Congress at only 23 percent, its lowest since 20 percent in 1994. But reporting on that low number 12 years ago, just six days before Republicans took control of the House and Senate, Bob Schieffer didn't see disaster ahead for Democrats. Back then he maintained: “It's hard to gauge who'll be helped or hurt by all this gloom come Election Day.”

Reporting the survey back in 1994, however, Schieffer did not inform viewers of how the GOP "dominated" issues, never referred to the Congress as “Democrat-controlled” and didn't bother to mention how 54 percent viewed Republicans favorably, ten points above the 44 percent who viewed Democrats favorably.

Its so easy to show media bias.
I'm telling you that this is more of a problem than you think....these news stories downplaying the Ripropping proping up the Left all the time change the mood of the American people over time...they are told that everyone else hates Bush, so people who don't know what to think feel in the minority if they like Bush or Republicans..

Now, if you actually read the whole link the evidence is overwhelming....the news media is clearly, with no doubt slanted....

This story is so perfectly done, so completely proving liberal media bias that the libs can't even come up with ANYTHING to say...

it would be nice if the conservatives chimed in too

Sure I can.

Bob Scheiffer is a Bush simpathizer. He totally gave the 3rd debate to Bush by asking softball questions. Never touched key issues such as energy and environment. Instead he asked what woman influenced is life the most.

I think trying to compare what CBS was reporting 12 years ago with today is inane. Why not compare today with how the press treated Truman in 1952?

You really don't have a clue, do you?
These two periods in time are EXACTLY the same...the only thing different is that the party in power has not been in power for over 50 years this time...it is CLEAR bias.

It is right here in front of your face, yet you still deny it, nothing to back it up, all you can do is make a stupid comment about 1952? were the exact same amount of people sick of the party in charge?

Whas a power shift possible?
Simple facts Jim...

Standing ovation to newsbusters for showing it so clearly...Republican are about to gain power, the media ignors it hoping that it wont happen...

Dems might gain control, media proclaims it to try and make sure it happens....how can you be so damn blind to not see this?

Well, since you couldn't argue with any intelligent comments, it just shows how you really can't debate this...

Some of us have better things to do than stare at boob tubes & newspapers all day, no matter what way they're slanted.

Some of us too are sick of the b.s. from all of them.

This is a subject that can and has been debated 'til it was run into the ground.

Enough already. Old subjects of the news is bad subjects of the news.

Everytime you claim that the media is biased left, I can give you an example of the media being biased right, or just being biased lazy and stupid.

CBS Evening News again failed to mention Bush's recent flip-flop on fuel efficiency standards.

so that is being biased?
They can't report every single thing in the world...
I have a story on how and what they are reporting...

Totally different...
We seem to be going round and round...I can see your point of not reporting the story..its a weak example, but atleast I can see it..

You don't have the intellectual honesty to admit this CLEAR and obvious bias
