Dems Renominate Patrick Kennedy From Rehab

Well, I was going to be shocked because it looked like a Dem was going to resign after being caught disgracing himself..

I guess I should just stick to my instincts.
Why can't Dem's admit when they have messed up, and step down?
Is it because they lie to the American people and to themselves so long about who they are that they don't know when to quit?
Is it because they know they can get away with it?
Are they just used to the media covering up everything they say and do?
Why?
Why is it when Republicans get caught they typically step down:
Newt
Lott
Nixon

Even though he has not been actually caught doing anything, he did step down from a leadership role, thats for adding an example I forgot about Jim

Way to not answer the question as usual...we know the answer.

I think the funniest thing I have read in ages was your phrase "when they get caught". If they can do all this shady crap, why cant they be forthright about it. Nixon only stepped down so Ford could give him his pardon, Newt stepped down because he was Speaker when Clinton was impeached, and Lott had numerous issues. Mostly, he went ahead with prosecuting Clinton when there wasnt any chance of conviction, and he made stupid remarks about supporting Strom Thurmond as a presidential candidate.

Except for Newt, none of those people had personal issues. I am not sure how much of Kennedy is more than personal, but there hasnt been anything more than speculation. All of the guys you had mentioned had YEARS AND YEARS of speculation, and never stepped down.
