Student Faces Criminal Charges For Teacher Jokes

HENRY COUNTY, Ga. -- A Henry County high school student is facing criminal charges after posting comments about his teacher on the Web site, MySpace.com, reported WSB-TV in Atlanta.
The teacher has filed defamation of character charges against the student, Alex Davis, 15.

What do you think about this?
Is the teacher going to far?
Should student's have a lower standard of expectation when it comes to conduct and what they say about others?
If a co-worker did that in an office setting, wouldn't they be fired?
Is myspace.com the son of the devil?

Not sure if it is quite so easy, but it does seem like the teacher is being a bit of a baby...

However, if the kid is a real dick, I can see the teacher using this to get back at the kid...and in this day and age of lawsuits and teachers not being able to disapline anymore...sometimes teachers have to get their shots in whenever they can
