Court Rejects Call To Reveal NSA Details

Via AP

A federal appeals court on Friday declined to force the government to turn over information on the National Security AgencyÂ’s wiretapping program to a man charged in a terrorism case.

The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in the case of Yassin Aref, an imam at an Albany mosque who is accused of laundering money for an FBI informant posing as an arms dealer.

Aref wanted the government to say whether any of the evidence against him had been gathered through the warrantless electronic surveillance program, which has been challenged by some civil liberties groups.

He asked the court to force the NSA to reveal details of the program, rule it illegal and toss out evidence gathered from it. The New York Civil Liberties Union joined ArefÂ’s motion.

The ACLU has nothing left to do but help terrorist and child molesters now...
Anyway, nice to see that there are some judges that understand the importance of our intelligence agencies...and their need to keep details about their plans secret...even though liberals and the MSM love to tell terrorists how we arstoppingng them from committing more terrorism...which makes one think: How many terror attacks would there have been since 9-11 here with liberals in charge (since they don't think it is fair to spy on terrorists)

When I talked to my friend the terrorist yesterday, he told me he was amazed to learn that there is an international corporation that monitors and keeps records of international financial transactions. He was even more surprised to learn that the US Government would be monitoring that data. "Wow, what a concept!" he said.

Having learned about this, he was also astounded to learn that the US Administration might be accessing these records illegally, because the Bush administration ALWAYS works with the Congress and the Courts to assure that its citizens rights are preserved. That's what he is fighting against. The legal institutions that make America an evil country.

"Gee, we're going to have to find a different way to move money now."

your stupid attempt at sarcasm shows you have no idea what is going on...
They transport money through banks, and now they know which banks the US is monitoring...so now they will be able to switch banks and be less detectable...why do you want the terrorists to win Jim?
Why are you not happy we are tracking them and stopping them?

I don't have any problem with tracking these transcactions if it is done according to the rule of law and according to the constitution. Do we have congressional and judicial oversight to ensure that it is?

"now they know which banks the US is monitoring." You mean this company only monitors SOME banks and not all of them? There might be some that could still be used by terrorists that aren't being monitored? And now they can switch to a bank that isn't being monitored?

I'm having a hard time believing that the media has somehow divulged information that the terrorists weren't aware of. The company that gathers the information is not some secret international spy company. It is a public company who business is no secret.

So Osama must be pretty dumb if he thinks that the US is not monitoring international banking transactions like we said we would back in 2001. Stupid, and yet, have we found and captured him?

Opps I forgot..our leaders NEVER do anything wrong and are always right and doing the proper thing. Naive.

it is OUR constitution, not the worlds...so whatever our govt does to these people, good.
and as far as the bank questions, I don't know the answers, and that is the way it should be...
anyone reading these comments by the liberals show why we our intelligence agencies were worthless, and why things like 9-11 happened...
Do you people see why we need conservatives to stay in charge?
Do you want more 9-11's, or 9-11 times 9,756...than let them back in and watch another Clinton style distruction of the FBI and CIA...

very comical couple posts.Still, my
friend the terrorist is only second
to bizzar-o's Clinton/Kennedy buffoonery.By election time she could be rid of the Clinton name.
