Muslims face extra checks in new travel crackdown

Good, Good, Good, Good, Good, Good, Good, Good, Good, Good!!!!!
THE Government is discussing with airport operators plans to introduce a screening system that allows security staff to focus on those passengers who pose the greatest risk.
Wow, that is called common sense
When every single person trying to blow up planes and bridges is Muslim...looking at them a little more is not profiling, it is called being mildly observant.
If we ever tried to protect ourselves properly here, liberals would be screaming and yelling. Unless you want to be blown up by people who could care less about ANYTHING but making sure you are dead, don't even listen to liberals AT ALL when it comes to protection. That includes Republicans who are not doing everything they should because the NYT's and other hate groups try and undermine our nations attempt to keep me safe.

So do consequences of racism, of which there are laws against, too.

Yeah, funny how people so easily forget the Tamils and the Irish. Or better yet, the police who who terrorize meighborhoods. How about the Hindus massacring Christians by the bucketful in India. How about the atheist Chinese and N Koreans killing those deemed 'different' by the thousands?

I didn't know McVeigh was Muslim?

Islam isn't a race. Blacks, Whites, and Asians are all members of it.

rhyno, jim--

There is a difference between the words 'most' and 'all'. In addition, consider who has been trying to blow up planes over the last ten years. Forget about your Enlightened Socialist Ideals for a minute and look at the facts.

Racism is to include religious racism Jason.

And I can prove that a helluva lot more people have died from the U.S.' own people over the last 10 years right inside the U.S., than through getting planes blown up anywhere else.

You talk about the facts, when you don't even know them for sure yourself. You're so self-centered around 9/11, that you don't even see that there's a whole lot more right around it.

And, any/all of those incidents in the U.S. could have been, or lead to, the twin towers being blown up a thousand times over at least --

This is my country, Jason. The one I pay taxes for. I'll be damned if I'll live unsafely in it while other countries get to have their cake and eat it too at my expense.

Screw that.

There's a WI candidate who agrees.

The press has picked up on it too.

I'll start listening to your whining about 9/11 and Pearl Harbor again when the U.S. learns to honestly defend itself. Until then, it's "you let yourself in for it". I'm tired of it. I'm tired of the paranoid propaganda, I'm tired of the rhetoric, everything, because there is something to be learned here, and it sure in the hell ain't by me.

Dedanna, it is politically uncorrect to say we would deserve it. Those haters of politically correct speach have come up with some taboos of their own. I do understand what you are saying though. If we want to be safe we should start thinking about how many ways we can make ourselves that way and not just kill all the jhaidists.

Sorry Ron, I think that people bring on their own kharma, and that if things can be prevented, then they should be.

Look at all the Repugs who voted for Bush, all the Christians who now are whining -- they got what they deserved for voting for the s.o.b. in the first place.

By the same token, if you have someone coming at you with a knife or gun, and you do nothing to defend yourself, then wtf do you think is going to happen?

What I find funny, is that no one on either side of the fence besides Ron (and it took him a while) is addressing this very issue.

Guess no one wants to cough up that I'm right --

This is a serious point I've brought up, and you're all avoiding it --

What, cuz it's not status quo or politically correct?

That's great that he wants to do something about it here in the U.S., but he only wants to do it for one kind of peoples, that being the Muslims. There are countless other cultures (i.e. the Chinese and Japanese torture gangs in California, Italian mobs in New York as big as terrorist groups, Mexican drug-running gangs who rob, steal, and rape as well) that we should be cracking down on also.

Also: The Patriot Act is one thing. to go too far with it is another. By going too far, I'm talking turning the U.S. into a communistic state.

Dedanna,

I fail to see how revamping our security so that we check 100% of Muslims constitutes Communism. That has nothing to do with the definition of Communism.

Additionally, we already practice profiling on a number of levels. Specifically, I just saw a report on the news the other night on DUI crackdowns. Who are they targeting? Young males.

On top of that, he never said he wanted to target only one group. He said, "it's a start." Additionally, airport security isn't affected by the gangs and mobs that you speak of. Those are an entirely separate issue unrelated to the Dept. of Homeland Security.

Dedanna, Basically I agree with you..just pointing out you are in for slings and arrows for being politically uncorrect.

Joey, I'm not really firm in my convictions on this issue yet. Not ready to take sides. Answer something for me..how do we decide who is the Moslem? Do they have to wear a turban, are the necessarily dark skinned, do they declare their religion. Do we keep a file on everybodys religion?
