Win for the wackadoo wing

Leftward, march! The sucking sound you heard from Connecticut last night was the air going out of the war on terror. At least among many Democrats.

The party's voters have spoken - and they are wrong to try to fire Joe Lieberman after three distinguished terms in the Senate. Now we know what a nutmeg really is. It has something to do with a nutty decision.

Don't buy the baloney that Lieberman lost his primary race because he had lost touch with his home base on a range of issues. Rich upstart Ned Lamont was all about Lieberman's support for the Iraq war and coziness with President Bush. That's what this election was about, period.

So now that the wackadoo wing of the party has a bloody scalp, what are they going to do with it? Wave it at Islamic terrorists in Iraq and Lebanon and Afghanistan and Indonesia and Great Britain and Spain and Israel and New York and declare peace? That will work for sure. They better also wear armor and duck.

Lieberman is the first casualty of the war against the war on terror. If last night's results are a window on the party's tilt, then a huge slice of the Democratic party is ready to sit out the war to protect America. God help us if the Republicans also get the wobblies. Let's hope the Connecticut Condition isn't contagious. And let's hope last night's decision is overturned.

Lieberman's decision to stay in the race as an independent is the right one. Given the close margin, all the state's voters deserve a chance to have their say. Perhaps they will fix what the Democrats broke.

Perfect explanation. Also, moonbat Dem's are happy Lieberman lost, but really, they lost. In the general election, either Lieberman or whomever the Republican is will win. That means even less hope of the Dem's winning back the Senate.

The Islamoleftists are gaining in strength.

I was arguing with a relative recently about how anti-semitic Democrats are becoming, based on comments I've seen on their websites. The relative insisted without evidence, like Jim, that this is not the case.

Hillary Clinton stands further to the right than Joe Lieberman, yet there has been no moonbat effort to oust her. Why excommuncate the pro-Israel Jew who is standing strong against the global jihad, but leave an opportunistic woman out for herself and only herself alone?

Why? Well, if you read The Protocols of the Daily Kos, you'd know why.

Jason,
you can't use the words of the new power of the Democratic party against them...

Gee, I thought registered democrats in Vermont voted yesterday. I didn't vote. Vermont is about as blue a state as it comes. Some of the biggest names in the Democratic party supported Lieberman. Lamont is a former Republican small businessman. What evidence do you have that he is any more liberal than Lieberman.

So why are you following the rightwing nut sputum about how the Democratic party has taken some radical left turn.

It's crap. Just because it echoes doesn't mean it isn't crap. It is.

If you criticize a person of the jewish faith, if you criticize the actions or policies of the state of Israel you are anti-semitic? Bullshit!

Wow! Once again one post on a blog represents the whole of liberal, Democratic thinking.

I didn't know that's how it works. Does it work the same on this blog? On Little Green Footballs? It must.

Here's a win for the OTHER wackadoo wing in Michigan from Washington Monthly:

Schwarz was endorsed by President Bush, Dick Cheney, the Michigan Republican Party and the Michigan Chamber of Commerce. The NRA sent out a mailing telling district voters that it gave Schwarz an "A" rating. Newt Gingrich did a fundraiser for him.

Wait, it gets better. Schwarz is a former Navy officer and CIA agent in Laos. He is also a medical doctor who still has a practice in Battle Creek. He was a state senator for 16 years who earned a reputation for knowing his stuff on education and for saving jobs in his district.

He was swamped, 55% to 45%, by Tim Walberg, a fundamentalist preacher. Walberg also used to be a state senator, and was known for his ineffectiveness. But he had Michigan Right to Life and the Club for Growth on his side, and he called Schwarz — the Dick Cheney-endorsed former CIA operative — a "liberal."

Looks like the moonbats are taking over the Republic party, forcing it to take a hard right turn. Right?

what kind of race is this?

Can't believe you don't know that one game --

I'm not a Lieberman fan. Not by far. I'm also not completely a fan of either Repug or Dem candidates out there right now.

Well, it seems that Lieberman has hurt all three -- himself, the Dems, and the Repugs. Just one of the many reasons I don't like him.

Check it out.

Jim--

The party of Robert F. Kennedy is now the party of Sirhan Sirhan. I don't like religious fundamentalists, but I'll support Ned Flanders over Sheik Nasrallah any day of the week.

Lieberman has been singled out because he is a pro-Israel Jew. There are many Democrats to the right of Lieberman, like Hillary Clinton, so it isn't because of his political positions.

There is a lot of anti-semitic stuff on islamoleftist blogs like the Daily Kos-- you claimed these people aren't powerful, but as the election of Ned Lamont shows, they certainly are.

Ned Lamont would defeat FDR, JFK, and Truman today for their pro-Bush opinions.

FDR: "We have learned that we cannot live alone, at peace; that our well-being is dependent on the well-being of other nations, far away."

JFK: "Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we will pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, to assure the survival and the success of liberty."

Truman: "It must be the policy of the United States to support free peoples who are resisting attempted subjugation by armed minorities or outside pressures."

I didn't leave the Democratic Party -- the Democratic Party left me.

Jason, you are obviously on drugs.

If you think "Lieberman has been singled out because he is a pro-Israel Jew" you are loonier and less informed than I even previously thought. It has nothing whatsoever with him being a jew. It has nothing whatsoever with him being pro-Israel.

It has to do with him being a Bush enabler. He has often done things that have been harmful to the Democratic party and to the country. Why wouldn't some Democrats want somebody else representing them?

Lieberman said that it was dangerous and unpatriotic to criticize the policy of the president while at war. That is the loudest Republic talking point in existance and I'd vote agains Rahm if he said that.

Jason you continue to use the race card, the race card you so often complain about when you percieve others using it. How lame is that?

Probably drug-induced.

I just want that butthole Lieberman (and I'm an independent) to go away, because he's harming everyone. Who cares why, who cares what for, I don't give a crap about his religious affiliation, he's doing it. Beats me how anyone could deliberately be so harmful to all parties concerned, plus be harmful to the U.S. in general. If this was Feingold doing this, I'd feel the same way.
