At U.N., Chavez Calls Bush 'The Devil'

Chavez has lessened his stature in the world by making personal attacks on George W. Bush. His speech was deplorable, of course.

That said, what does it say about our country's foreign policy and world stature that leaders of influential countries feel free to utter these words on the record in front of the world? They apparently no longer fear the wrath of the United States much less respect its position as an economic power and moral authority.

Horse manure! Plain and simple.

They are emboldened by their own stupidity and overinflated sense of self. It says absolutely nothing about our country that such punks and lunatics take such a tack. I'm more outraged at the applause that follows the statements of these jerks. But even that says nothing about our country, but more about the depths to which much of the world has sunk.

Hmmm, Iran is number 3 in the world in proven oil reserves and Venezuela is number 7. I'm not sure their sense of self is necessarily overinflated.

Should we just tell the rest of the world to go fuck themselves?

Here is what rank'n'file democrats thought of Chavez. I'm sure it is worse over at Kos.

Chavez also claimed that he thought the UN should be moved out of the United States. Bush thought this was nonsense. That would make us Ited States.

Of course it is, Jim. Imagine going into someone's house and engaging in personal attacks on the owner. One would have to be pretty cocky to think it's appropriate for them to talk in such a way.

I notice Jim is really plugged in to the Democrat Talking Points. He posted word for word what Rangel, Pelosi, Harkin,..., are saying.

Jim, do you go around saying the Conservatives can't think unless Rove or Limbaugh tells them first? Look in the mirror, buddy. You are the mind numbed robot.

Oh, Jim, you've disappeared from this thread and every other thread as soon as you are smacked down with reality and truth.

No, pcd, the comment made here is proving Jim's point, in the arrogancy of the people of the U.S., and the discriminatory nature against those of other cultures. By saying that those of other nations have overinflated sense of selves, and in the same breath be cocky about ourselves, is to call the kettle black.

If only we made comments like this about the neighbors down south. The illegal immigration issue wouldn't be so out of hand. But oh, no, we're (the people/gov't of the U.S.) the ra-ra capitol of the world for rhetoric, propaganda, and hate speech, directed at those who don't deserve it a lot of the time, and not directed at those who do. If the people of the U.S. took out time for even one minute of humility and compassion, the world would be a much better place.

Cant take credit. It was from Conan's monologue.

Dedanna,

If you hate the US so much, why don't you move to one of those cultures you think is so superior? Is it because that place is a Hell hole, but you want to be a Socialist and live here like a Rich, trust fund Kennedy?

Condecension as you dish out make no converts to your hate America Defeatism, Dedanna. Go back you your cloistered academic halls and let no Americanism in your closed minded world.

I don't know where you came from pcd, but you are full of macaca. I have quoted no one here. I haven't read or heard anything anybody said about Chavez except Pelosi who condemned his statements. I have not written word for word anything except my own words.

And I've never been smacked down here by truth. That's a laughable statement. I quit writing when further debate is useless, which often comes pretty early here.

pcd, why don't you offer some debate or some link to facts instead of making personal attacks on posters.

Dedanna,

I thought we were talking about Chavez, Ahmadinajad and the UN luminaries. My comments were meant for such as those, who were the ones making the crappy remarks and personal attacks on our president. Also, I think it would be easy to show that our country is indeed the best country in the world in many ways and do so as a matter of fact, not arrogant pride. Thus, to simply admit the truth isn't arrogance, particularly to counter nonsense said about us, our policies and our leaders. This isn't a lack of humility. As far as compassion, the USA shows this trait with regularity. We could do ten times as much and we'd still hear trash talk from abroad. Those are the people who can screw themselves. I make no apologies for any of it. If you have a problem with being a part of the best country on earth, seek counseling.

pcd, well done...nice new addition...

Jim, why don't you tell the truth like you claim to want to both here and on your crappy website?

You are a hack, Jim. Just be honest for a change. You offer few links yourself, Jim. Stop projecting your character short comings upon others ans stop looking for fights and we'll all get along fine.

Dedanna said...

Ah, yes, the "get with the program we support here or you shouldn't be here at all and are stupid" routine.

How refreshing. Wait. It's nothing new here.
