Tom Kean Jr. Calls for Hastert's Ouster

Since I am intellectually honest, unlike Jim or Ron, I will now bash Republicans
Any Republican who calls for Hastert to resign is simply doing it for political gain, and that's it.
Republicans are not supposed to jump to emotional conclusions. There is not one single amount of evidence saying that Hastert saw anything but weird emails. Shame on you Kean and any other Republican who joins liberals in saying whatever it takes to get elected.

Well, we need bodies in Senate seats. If we start taking purity tests over non-issues like candidates bashing Rumsfeld and so forth, we'll end up in a contest with the Dems about who gets to be the permanent opposition party.

My philosophy: do what it takes to win, worry about the spoils and policy later. We did get Alito and Roberts on the bench last session, which are big wins for us, so we need to stay focused on the big picture.

I agree. Party control is paramount, particularly with the issues we now face. There could be one or two more openings on the Supreme Court before Bush is through, and we need to have support in place. Also, the issues of taxes is greatly at risk with a Dem majority. Can't have that. Darn near everything Bush has done could be reversed and replaced with something that no better. Can't have that, either.

I know what you guys are saying, but they we are just like liberals who say and do whatever it takes to get elected.
They have no backbone, no ideas.
Kean and others are reading from the same playbook...
If the American peopel are stupid enough to put liberals in power...then I guess they do...hope the world doesn't end...
probably won't, but I'm sure if given enough time, liberals would make sure we are no longer a superpower

There's really no other choice but for those who understand the way things are to continually hound our reps and keep their feet to the fire. At the same time, we must also encourage more participation by those around us. I know too many who don't waste their time with mid-term elections. They don't think they are as important as elections in presidential years.
