Future of politics

I would hope that everyone WANTS what is good for America and the world. So here is what is best for the country:

The Democrats come up with a strategy that can be used effectively in Iraq and allow us to stabilize the country and bring the troops home.

What might happen...and if it does, we are looking at Republicans controlling all three levels once again:
Dem's start pushing the far left agenda. That means hearing after hearing about Bush and the war, investigation after investigation....then add in some tax increases...then add some amnesty for illegals...and do nothing about Iraq...and you have a ready made recipe for Dem's back out of power.

If Dem's can understand that moderate and "conservative" Democrats got them their power, they might have a shot at both sides of congress and the White House in '08.

SIDE NOTE:
The breakdown in Senate votes throughout the country was about 55.3% to 44.7% Democrat

We will see if the Democrats can provide all the perfect answers now that they have Congress. Nothing less than perfection satisfied them while they were out of power, so hold them to the same standard.

Scorpion says---
They are talking loudly about how
both sides are going to work together. Why do I think this is as
comical as some of the things providing me amusement here every
day? I will get the checkbook ready
for the "changes" that will occur.

Time to hold Pelosi to her words. She can't do anything about corrupt Harry Reid, but she can start with Jim McDermott, Patrick Kennedy, and William Jefferson. All have committed ethical trasgressions and have been protected by the Democrat leadership. If Pelosi is going to run an Honest and Ethical Congress, she is going to have to refuse to seat these three.

if she does investigation after investigation...dem's will be shut out again in 08...the country was mad about iraq, they do not want to see impeachment and investigations all over the place...add in a tax increase and say hello to another republican president

pcd, William Jefferson hasn't been re-elected yet, and the liberal blogs are united against him. See, we don't defend our corrupt members.

Republicans did a lot of good things from 1994-2006, creating a period of prosperity and leaving the Democrats with low unemployment, a sizzling economy, and a solid anti-terrorism apparatus in place. If there is "change," we'll know who to blame.

However, Republicans have gotten flabby under Bush's reign, given Bush's taste for big government. I wouldn't be surprised if Bush makes friends with Reid and Pelosi and co-opts a lot of the Democratic agenda.

Hence, it is up to *us* to get the Reagan Revolution back on track and get Contract With America back on the table, if we want to take power and money away from the government and give it back to the people.

"Flabby Repubs", excellent discription, right on the money! Ya, I’m fired up over the next round.
