Hillary Clinton Launching Presidential Run

This is mostly an open thread, since this is only news in the sense that it is now official. We all knew she would run.

What do I think of her:
I think one of her problems is that she has tried to play on both sides of the fence so much that she has pissed off too many people.
A benefit is that she has tried hard enough to stay "moderate" that if she can beat obama for the nomination, she will do well in the general election. If the really far left crazies pick the nominee...Obama is far more liberal than even Clinton pretends to be.
Sorry to say, but right now I believe that whomever wins the Democratic nomination will be President of the United States.

Well, Giuliani or McCain can crush any Democrat nominee. With Romney it is a toss up against the 1st tier Democrat candidates. On broad conservative issues-- WOT, markets, judges, law and order-- any of the big three will make an excellent president.

I just hope the GOP doesn't commit some egregious mistake and nominate someone like Tom Tancredo or Duncan Hunter. Why? Because I play to win. As Reagan wrote in his autobiography, "if you got seventy-five or eighty percent of what you were asking for, I say, you take it and fight for the rest later, and that's what I told these radical conservatives who never got used to it."

I'm on board with Giuliani should he make the plunge. He matches up extremely well against all of the Dems-- pro-crime Obama would go down in flames against a Law and Order candidate, and Hillary looks like a pathetic poser on defense issues when matched up with Rudy. Giuliani's been a loyal party guy, can raise a buttload of money, is used to getting attacked by the New York Slimes daily and knows how to deal with pressure, and keeps a level head during a crisis.

I am not a big fan of Hillary. The biggest reason I would not support her nomination is that if she is elected, we will relive the lies upon lies against the Clintons from the 90's. She did not perjure herself, so there is absolutely nothing among the myriad of charges that could produce indictments, much less convictions. BUT, we'd have to hear it all over again. Because as much as the wingnuts accuse anybody who doesn't agree with Bush of being "Bush haters", we know where they are comming from because we know how much they hate anything Clinton.

I'd rather get something accomplished than listen to wingnut bullshit about Whitewater for another 8 years.

Giuliani was good as mayor but he really has no foreign policy credentials. Of course neither did Bush 43. I think Giuliani is going to have major problems in the primaries. The base doesn't like him. He has a lot of baggage.

McCain is not trusted by the right and the independents are beginning to see that he is no longer the maverick that made him popular.

I think you are right about Tancredo and Hunter. Too right wing. Could get nominated, but that's it.

Horrid Hillary didn't know what decisions to make or what to do about Bozo Bill.I shudder to imagine her making decisions that will affect my future AND ESPECIALLY the future of our country.

She knew exactly what to do. She helped "Bozo Bill" to leave office with a popularity well into the 60%s and a popularity that spans the country and the world.

Dennis Miller has a great joke about Hillary that is also true.
In her book she wrote that she had no idea that Bill was fucking around on her. Someone who isn't smart enough to notice something as obvious as that is not fucking smart enought to be the President of the United States

That's assuming she was telling the truth about not knowing. Which is really worse, not knowing what most women would see easily, or knowing and having to take it in order to keep riding the coattails? Either way, she looks like an idiot.

"Because as much as the wingnuts accuse anybody who doesn't agree with Bush of being "Bush haters", we know where they are comming from because we know how much they hate anything Clinton."

This is funny. Did you have that on your list, Jim? We on the right don't accuse anybody who disagrees with Bush as being "Bush haters", since there are Repubs and conservatives who disagree. We say that Bush hating liberals disagree only to obstruct. It's obvious when they offer no alternatives to that with which they disagree. And we don't hate everything Clinton as much as recognize that they have shown themselves to be less than honest self-promoters who will raise a wet finger to the wind to see which way the wind blows rather than to stand on real principle. They are simply seen as poor choices, we hate what they represent and support. We also hate the fact that so many, 60% was it? (I'm sure) that are sucked in by their slick style and support them. It's pretty unforgivable. But then it's typical for libs to vote on style over substance.

Lame, Jim, lame. Hillary is a shyster through and through. The only lies we would have to live through are those told by True Believer Clinton cultists like yourself.

You wouldn’t have to listen to “White Watergate” again. They got away with that scot-free - despite the evidence.

But that whole Vince Foster thing stunk to high heaven. I'd love to see the press put that whole ordeal under the magnifying glass (among other things). Maybe I should wish for something more realistic, like seeing pigs fly
