Illegal Border Crossers Rarely Prosecuted

Guidelines issued by U.S. attorneys in Texas showed that most illegal immigrants crossing into the state had to be arrested at least six times before federal authorities would prosecute them, according to an internal Justice Department memo.

This is the trend all over the country on a variety of issues. We keep lowering standards and making it easier on people who break the law. So we have more and more people on the streets breaking the law. This is not good my friends.

I would imagine that the courts would be overburdened should they prosecute every case, thus we have more of a "catch and release" program. However, I have no problem with illegals who are caught being incarcerated until their turn comes up. We could slap together an internment camp that would house them and once they are convicted, deport them. Their names, photos and fingerprints would be on file so that if they are caught again, more severe penalties can be executed. It might take years for some of them to get their day in court, but the deterrent effect might lessen the numbers caught in the future.

You mean that a punishment that would actually be a real punishment isn't taking place? Imagine that!!!

No point in discussing this. We all know where Dems stand on this issue. They want no action. But, more dissappointing and disgusting thing was George Bush. Why can't he take tougher actions so this can be slowed down if not completely stopped? The whole illegal immigration is such a slap on the face for all the legal immigrants who stood in line and followed every step to get their legal status. Shame!
