What is happening to our educators?

Principal Accused of Selling Meth...

Teacher accused of having sex with five different schoolboys...

I think one of the big reasons we are seeing more and more of this is because the educators environment keeps getting worse and worse. Pay has always sucked, but now the job sucks more and more as well.

Teachers have no authority do really do anything anymore. Bleeding heart administrators and superintendents keep coming up lower and lower standards. Kids get away with more and more with less and less consequences. That means that classrooms are out of control, and the reason the educator went into the profession...to teach...can no longer happen.

So anyone who is talented and smart enough to be a teacher, is smart enough to not become a teacher. We are left with everyone else who couldn't cut it in another field or could never cut it at all. There is and will always be great teachers. The problem is 30 years ago a bad teacher could get by because the kids were taught at home to respect authority and to work hard. Now a bad teacher gets eaten up by kids who come from homes that teach kids to be disrespectful and to work as little as possible.

What do you think?

lol...sorry..
It might be a little negative, but I was trying to make a point.
There are SOME people that are smart and talented who teach despite what I am saying...I do it and I would say I have many talents and strong characteristics...I like teaching...but I do understand why most would never do it or could never do it...which leaves us with a bigger percentage of bad teachers who have sex with students and sell crack and meth

Game,

Don't forget the Entitlement mentality the Democrats foster, promote, and reward. You don't have something, take it.

Also, the education system brings on some of this behavior by breaking all rules and mores. Look at the 88 professors at Duke that convicted the Lacrosse team without due process, then proceeded to flunk the players. Small minded profs meeting out punishments because the students weren't politically correct. Well, nothing has happened to the 88, so why should anyone else or any student obey any rules or strictures???

Game, hear about that Seattle school where the teachers are actively teaching disrespect of personal property rights?

Then you teachers wonder why the "students" are crapping on you. Maybe look to what you teach and expect out of your students.

Oh, one more thing. 3-4 years ago busloads of teacher union folk went to DC. On the way they thought they'd stop at Karl Rove's house and bang on the windows demanding one of their pet initiatives be passed. I forget the name of it, but it was something for making lilegal alien students immune from immigration laws & deportation, while forcing the taxpayers to foot ALL their education costs.

Ya, education has turned about 75% liberal. That is a problem because liberals feel they are doing the right thing by lowering standards and making it easy on kids. It gets worse and worse every generation. Schools that keep standards high and hold conservative values stay much more successful.

This is the story of every other country! Teachers pay sucks, lowering talent and standards, uncontrolled students, increasing sexual activities at minor age…

Well, life goes on…

I hope that's not your true attitude. Don't know exactly what can be done about such things. Somehow punishing the parents has to be part of it. And Bush has tried to encourage accountability in schools, but No Child Left Behind needs some tweaking. Certainly the administrator selling drugs needs the maximum sentenct allowed by law. The same goes for teachers having sex with kids, but they need to make sure it's actually happened. Kids aren't above false accusations. Paying attention to whom we elect is also a big part of the path our society takes.

We have way to many bleeding heart liberals sticking up for these kids and their paretns...shouting racism and poverty as excuses as to why they can not do anything. That is the number one problem, period
