4 Charged In Plot To Blow Up Jet Fuel At JFK

Speaking as a liberal:
How did they find out about this?
Did they use illegal wire-taps?
Did they violate any of the terrorists rights?
I would rather have seen that pipeline blown up than watch GWB and our govt stomp on our civil rights!!!!

Don't you know better than to respond to trolls? It just encourages them.

"not smart enough to actually defend his side"

You mean the side that thinks using law enforcement to stop terrorists is a lot smarter than using the military to invade a country that had nothing to do with al Qaeda?

I don't think I need to argue that point too hard. It's pretty self evident to anyone that's not a moron.

don't see anyone talking about the military here...just the law enforcement that liberals want to stop

Don't expect flabby leftwing neanderthals to respond to your post seriously. They think Bush is the real terrorist, and the "corporate" media is making up events to fool the "sheeple."

philip--

"You mean the side that thinks using law enforcement to stop terrorists"

Oh, so the left does think stopping Islamic Revolutionaries is a law enforcement matter. Your comrades have been trying to dissuade me of this idea, as if they better understand how to win the War on Terror.

Thanks for clearing that up.

great point...Clinton thought getting Bin Laden was a law enforcement problem, for that kind of thought we got 9-11

And Bush thought getting Bin Laden was a military problem, and he caught him, didn't he?

Oh yeah. He didn't.

Can you be more specific? I've been reading the news reports on this plot--if you can call something officials said was "impossible" to pull off a plot--and haven't seen any mention of anything objectionable. Once again, it sounds like this plot was disrupted with old-fashioned police work and informants. No warrantless wiretaps, no torture, no indefinite detentions . . . Just good police work.

To which I do not object.

Well Jim, if we would have went after terrorist militarily like we should have, they wouldn't have been able to pull off any attack...like they haven't since

Jay,

I expect that phone calls into the US from known terrorists would be both tapped and recorded. That is a no brainer, except to people with no brains who think that no one wants to kill or destroy us.

This is a law-enforcement procedure I support.

Good police work? Informants? Fantastic. Whatever works. Police work here, military action there, one persuading a Muslim to convert, warrantless wiretaps on suspected terrorists or their allies, beatin' answers out of known scumbags with time sensitive info...you wanna beat these guys or what? You wanna protect innocent people from unjustified early death or mutilation? Every tool in the bag, boys, every tool in the bag.

Jay, too bad your party chose to mischaracterize that action as warrantless wiretapping of US Citizens. YOUR party demagogued the issue with false premises.
