AP: Wrestler Benoit killed wife and son and hanged himself

FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. (AP) — Pro wrestler Chris Benoit strangled his wife and smothered his son before hanging himself in his weight room, a law enforcement official close to the investigation told The Associated Press on Tuesday.

This is the story of the day. Belling talked about it for over 30 minutes.
This is a very complicated story.
1. The WWE was supposed to have a special 3 hour RAW trying to figure out who "killed" Vince McMahon. Instead, we see Vince in the ring of an empty arena last night. I think this story line was going to be huge and get huge ratings as well. It seems as though they have scrapped the story line and are SOL...
2. Instead the WWE did a 3 hour tribute show to Benoit. I don't know if they had any clue what he did at the time, but in retrospect, they did a three hour tribute for a murderer.
3. Good question: Did the WWE have any idea what had happened before they but this show on the air last night?
4. What the hell happened?

How can someone murder his wife AND THEN a 7 year old son...it seems unbelievable...

game,

I used to follow wrestling. I used to frequent a site called Powerbomb2000 for their live internet-casts and interviews of wrestlers. John Cena was a particular favorite of the host.

We all agreed that steroids were bad, harmful, and should be banned from the "sport".

Benoit was obviously out of his mind. I think the WWE knows more than they are telling. They wanted Benoit checked on before the cops finally got there.

Benoit sent strange text messages to friends and neighbors all weekend. It might have been a plea for help. It might be that he just wanted the bodies found since he put Bibles by the bodies.

I don't know about all of this, but how many other athletes out there are now "time bombs"?

I heard that teenage girls are statisticly the largest group of steroid abusers. GOD!!!!

I'll end with, may God give Chris, Nancy, and Daniel peace.

Amazing the obvious power of steroids. This was a great entertainer, and, yes a wrestler of really special talents. His career was at the highest levels. What mind-set allows you to totally snap like this?To end the life of your wife and child says your head is not right.May they rest in peace. Will Vince McMahon have anything else to say?He knew what Benoit was doing with 'roids for all these years? OR NOT???

Scorpion,

Vincent Kennedy McMahon could really care less. He and Hogan went round and round in court over steroid usage. McMahon had been indicted on some Federal charge.

I have no use for McMahon other than to be on the receiving end of a Powerbomb on cement.

Now, remember Nancy Benoit had been married to another wrestler, Kevin Sullivan, and had been on camera as the Manager, "Woman". I don't remeber her as a defenseless female, but she was no match for someone like Chris Benoit.

Scorp, Benoit was an alumnus of Stu Hart's famous Dungeon in Calgary. I think many of Stu's students use/used 'roids. Look at Stu's son, Bret "the Hitman". He's had health problems that sound like complications of long term steroid usage.

Now, cogitate on this. How many football players use steroids? I'm not just talking pros, but college and High School players.

Scorp, Game, and Jay, think you won't find 'roids in your football teams' lockers?

pcd,

Everything you share is absolutely correct, especially true with MR. McMAHON.I shudder to think how many young athletes are using this without regards to long term side effects.I will contiue to try to make my students realize in their Health class the importance of avoiding these terrible threats to their health, and, their lives.

Not the way our team plays. Or we need a refund.
