When guys like Jim get mad that liberals are made to look like cartoon characters because of "generalities" I make about them, one of them being that they love to raise taxes, all I can do is shake my head.
If a Dem EVER says in a campaign that they will not raise taxes you should stand up and call them a liar...and then laugh at anyone who believes them.
I just hate the class warfare...AGAIN, I am proving with facts that Dem's can only see things based on race, age and wealth...
To Dem's, the rich have too much and need to be punished so we can give more money to people who don't have as much...
However, how many poor hire people....
Why should we get mad at people with money?
If it wasn't for the rich, none of the failed liberal programs that create a permanent underclass couldn't happen...

Democrats Seek Formula To Blunt AMT

I've got a formula...
Get rid of the AMT. Of course, since it's the 'Rats that put it in, and wrote it so that it would ensare an increasing number of Americans every year, I doubt that will happen as long as they have anything to say about it.
The AMT is just another "Get Even With Them" tax like the Luxury Tax was.
Do Jim and Jay remember the dislocation and unemployment the Luxury tax caused? Probably not, but if a worker who was laid off by Bayliner because of the "rich" not buying boats because of the tax should happen to corner Jim or Jay, I wouldn't vote for a conviction of the worker's actions.
The article you've linked to cites no tax increase. It is about a balance in the payment in taxes to be fair.
Can you name a Dem who is claiming they won't raise taxes? See the Democrats know that the Republics have mortgaged the future of our children and grandchildren and they are trying to find ways to reverse that.
The Republics love to pass tax cuts like they have been doing, but they sunset them to make the future deficits look better than they would and then accuse Democrats of raising taxes if they don't extend these debt bombs.
People are getting wise to this, though. They can see through it.
If Repubs had the balls to cut failed liberalism from the govt we could cut taxes WAY more and have no debt
And you would cut what? Social Security, right?
Corporate welfare I'm sure
First, I believe the sunset provisions on tax cuts are compromises to get enough vote to pass the damn thing. Without it, Dems wouldn't go along at all.
Second, the Republicans haven't "mortgaged the future", but the entitlement programs and federal money grabbing has indeed done so. As long as there are politicians, we'll have debt of some kind, I fear. Left or right, they just can't seem to keep their hands off our money. But I'll always vote Republican because they take less.
I can deal with cutting corporate welfare, but there is one thing to consider: The bigger the corporation that fails, the more jobs that are lost. I believe this is more a reason to support a corporation than any "friend of big business" crap that the left likes to spew. This isn't to say that I necessarily agree with it in principle, only that I understand the logic of doing so as opposed to the class warfare angle the left likes to play. Probably the most well known example of corporate welfare was the Chrysler bail out. Imagine the loss of jobs if Chrysler had gone under. That plays a big part in such a decision that could outweigh the basic conservative philosophy of letting the poor performers fall by the wayside under their own poor management.
If I'm not mistaken, Chrysler got loans and paid it all back. That's not welfare. And Iacocca took a $1 salary. How many CEOs would do that today? Pick a better example.
