Forecaster cuts 2007 hurricane outlook

I don't understand...
Global warming is real and destroying everything...
How come we have had almost no hurricanes for two years?
Maybe we are back to global cooling...

Well, maybe its because of Mrs. Edwards

"Global warming is real and destroying everything"

Now you've finally nailed the scinece of global warming! The leading scientists all predict that the world will end tomorrow....

You can make smart ass comments about it...
However, anyone who understands how data collection and analysis works knows that the global warming hysteria is crazy...and more and more scientists are becoming unafraid by the intolerant left and agreeing with me...

Game, you are making smartass comments on virtually every one of your posts, and what you are failing to recognize is that you are setting a negative tone for your whole blog!

Now;

"...how data collection and analysis works..." knows that the global warming hysteria is crazy..."

No, you don't, because quantitative methodology neither validates nor invalidates scientific study.

"...knows that the global warming hysteria is crazy..."

And you don't know that either, because you are taking the individual that most prominently symbolizes the concept of climate change, Al Gore, and your intense, unhinged hatred of the MAN HIMSELF, and yoking it to its scientific, hypothetical aspect.

Sound, logical scientific research is not based on unhinged emotional responses and political vendettas. It is not influenced by them, and is fostered neither by big-money smear campaigns any more than flashy movies and slideshow presentations.

Game, you seem much more willing to attack the so-called "intolerant left" than you are to simply explain why and what you specifically find objectionable about the concept of climate change, or even the industry that appears ready to spring up around it.

Sometimes, we are all confronted with information that rubs us the wrong way, but the central issue is that failed conservative thought processes rely on belief and conjecture, rather than the hard cold facts. They make it possible to "feel", to "believe", rather than to know with knowingness.

At one time, you didn't have to teach a "conservative" what it meant to conserve.

Sadly, neocons seem bent on squandering the precious natural resources that God gave us for stewardship, almost as quickly as you seem to want to squander our money!

Remember...we do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors.

We borrow it from our kids.

Hash, that's a much better response than I could ever write.

WOW!!Great stuff here today.Truly a
really enjoyable post when Goofy Gore is part of the response.

Hash shows that he doesn't know what he is talking about in this case with this sentence:

No, you don't, because quantitative methodology neither validates nor invalidates scientific study.

Ya, it does. Hopefully you have never done a scientific study thinking like that...I have done them, and when your methodology is poor, the study is poor...How can an adult write something like that, then sit there and think he is smart. That is something you learn day one of a master's degree.

Or.

Hmmm, more personal attacks.

Does anyone else smell fear?

"No, you don't, because quantitative methodology neither validates nor invalidates scientific study."

Tell us why.

"Ya, it does. Hopefully you have never done a scientific study thinking like that...I have done them..."

Oh? Really?

In what discipline?

The Game said...

No Hash, saying you don't know what you are talking about, especially, 100 percent in this case if FACT. I have done research in education, and not action research studies, quantitative studies...

Hmmm....does anybody smell "change the course of the conversation, again, 'cause i'm a liberal that's had my "facts" shot down...again?"

hashfanatic said...

How, gooch?

Just saying someone misses it does not necessarily make it so...

The Game said...

Case is closed on this. Hash obviously doesn't know anything about research.

Game - what the fuck are you talking about? The number of large hurricanes has more than doubled since 1970; 2005 was the worst year for hurricanes on record. 2006 saw more than 40 major tropical storm systems, and so far in 2007 there's been one or two such storms, but we haven't really hit the season yet.

Hash obviously doesn't know anything about research.

I'm a researcher affiliated with two major universities and the USDA, and I can tell you, Game, you don't know what the hell you're talking about, either.
