Giuliani Vows to Stop Illegal Immigrants

If he convinces me of this, I'll vote for him hands down. He will also have the support of a vast majority of the country. The only ones who are not for tough immigration laws are the far, far lefty loonies. Every poll shows Americans want the wall built first, English as the official language (and if you WANTED immigrants to make something for themselves, you would be for it too), deport illegals, THEN worry about guest worker programs.

I know you liberals hate facts, but here are a few to show you how wrong you are on this issue...and how Rudi will be the next President if he runs with this issue.

Sixty-nine percent (69%) of voters would favor an approach that focuses exclusively on “exclusively on securing the border and reducing illegal immigration

72% of Americans believe it’s Very Important to reduce illegal immigration and enforce the borders

NY Times/CBS Poll Finds that 69% Believe Illegal Immigrants Should Be Prosecuted

What the poll doesn't show is where the issue ranks among all the others. If you ask a respondent if clean water is important, I'd guess an overwhelming majority would answer in the affirmative. These polls alone don't make your argument.

As far as the enforcement question goes, the question didn't define enforcement. To respondents, enforcement could mean a wall, fines, prosecution, etc.

What a political moron you are to fall for such pandering.

If you actually lived and managed to survive in New York (giggle), you'd realize Giuliani is a serial liar who comes up with a new "promise of the week" to scoop up new lemmings.

Most of his unpopularity here is derived not just from his unrelenting meanness and endorsement of corruption, but because he has never accomplished one thing he has ever promised.

The Mexicans, for instance, only became a presence for the first time under his watch, and, under him, now completely infest Sunset Park, Corona, East Harlem, Bedford Park, Ridgewood, etc., not to mention countless middle-class suburban neighborhoods like mine, that I struggled and strived for years and years in order to escape the inner city. They come to form the cheap labor pool in basement kitchens of restaurants, entertainment venues, and particularly construction sites, where Giuliani and his criminal buttboy Bernie Kerik served as enablers and worked out sweetheart deals between corrupt union officials, intimidated council members and community leaders, and the employers all too willing to profit from this disgrace and pour undocumented "contributions" to their shadowy "front" entities, which is why, Giuliani even is able to pay a campaign staff without dipping into his voluminous personal holdings, and Kerik sits not one day in jail.

If you REALLY would be willing to put your vote where your mouth is, you'd throw your support behind a candidate who has been demonstrably and consistently for enhanced stringencies in immigration law enforcement AND enforcement of border controls, like Tancredo or the surprisingly popular (or, perhaps, populist) Paul.

But this will never happen, for you have absolutely no clue or incentive as to how to vote your own interests, much less the countries'.

You'd rather be dictated to by party, manipulated by common hoods whose big-city methods and tactics you cannot possibly recognize, and vote the next pitiful compromise in.

But that's okay. The Republicans could rule for one hundred and one years the same unilateral way they do now (in complete failure), and you'd STILL support them and continue to blame the hated liberals you long to kill.

Pathetic.

We can see Hash hates him...Why do liberals hate that he cleaned up New York City?
That doesn't make any sense. Every stat shows that murder and violent crime went way, way down while he was mayor. It just shows liberals don't have the guts to do what it takes to stop criminals...
I really couldn't take hash seriously after the 4th word was moron.

Andy, you are partially correct. enforcement is the key...but it has been proven that where a wall has been built, crossings descrease almost 100%. A wall works. Rudi explained himself this weekend on the radio, and it made great sense.
See, I listened to him objectively, something the Lefties here can't do (I don't think).
His words SOUNDED good. I do understand that it is his job to SOUND good. I have to believe he will really get the job done...looking at how great is was cleaning up the city and becoming the countries major after 9-11, I tend to believe him.

That was nice. Andy made an okay comment that was not ful of nutjob crap and insults...and I debated him. That is what this is supposed to be about.

Do any of you live in New York City?

Rudy didn't ERADICATE any of these urban ills; he simply relocated the offensive parties to depopulated sections of upstate New York, Newark, New Jersey, and western Pennsylvania.

Uh, where did you "debate" Andy?

A debate resembles a conversation, game. This is where, first you talk, and then he talks, and then you talk, and then he talks....

I haven't witnessed any such "debate" here.

"Leftists loathe Giuliani not because he is conservative-- Giuliani is probably the most moderate Republican in the race. They hate him because Giuliani insults sacred victim leftist mascots -- vagrants, criminals, noble jihadists, oppressed dictators -- from squeegeemen to Fidel Castro, Giuliani really gets under their skin. Plus Giuliani beat the leftists on their own turf, even while getting attacked by the New York Slimes daily, which is an unforgivable sin in moonbatville."

Which would be all fine and good, and even quite believable and feasible...had Rudy actually kept his nose clean. Rudy was a prosecutor, someone New Yorkers believed would be incorruptible by his words and past deeds.

Jason, it wasn't two years into his mayorality when it was clear that such was not the case.

You're approaching the question ideologically without realizing the disconnect between Rudy's carefully cultivated image, and the reality of his egomaniacal temperament, a personal lifestyle marked by total viciousness and moral debauchery, philandering, and incest, the corruption that emerged after the "glory days" of the 9/11 occurrences, and his penchant for building an exalted image for himself on the backs of the dead while actually having enabled the tragedy by his actions.

In short, you've bought into an image, an illusion.

Rudy is the very antithesis of a true conservative.

His own two CHILDREN thoroughly despise them and openly declare they will do nothing to support him, which is extraordinary (there are quite scandalous reasons for this, the details I will not bore you with...)

Law enforcement, once his most ardent and loyal constituency, are 98% bitterly opposed to him. Wall Street has completely turned his back on him. The larger business community considers him box-office poison, and most of his once-lucrative speaking engagements on schedule had been called off before his candidacy was even announced. As mentioned, he FOSTERED the current illegals crisis by ordering law enforcement to stand down on "unprosecutorial" offenses, creating a common scenario in America where illegals quickly realize they will be sprung almost immediately after being apprehended. Now, the cops know better than to even bother trying, and THAT is why crime victims hate Rudy, THAT is why the country is overrun with illegals who are growing more murderous by the week (witness the robbery, sodomizing, and coldblooded murder of three decent black college students by your darling illegals, including one 28-year-old previously sprung after raping a five-year-old girl)
and Rudy talked and talked but did NOTHING, NOTHING, NOTHING about it.

Jason, you have his press releases and your propaganda to spread. This is my world, this is my life, and I watched it while it happened, and I am here to tell you that Rudy is a total SHAM and a HYPOCRITE.

You promote the image.

I'll keep spreading the reality of the facts on the ground.

And you go and vote whatever loser you deem acceptable for your interests, and accept the pitiful compromise.

It's not as though the votes will be counted anyway.

But know this.

Your policies and your whimsical little flights of fancy are KILLING us.

Sorry, Game, but if immigration is one of your big concerns, Giuliani is not your guy.

"Some of the hardest-working and most productive people in this city are undocumented aliens," Mr. Giuliani said. "If you come here and you work hard and you happen to be in an undocumented status, you're one of the people who we want in this city. You're somebody that we want to protect, and we want you to get out from under what is often a life of being like a fugitive, which is really unfair."

I mean, MY stance on immigration is tougher than that. He is LITERALLY inviting them here.

He's more interested in keeping a supply of cheap housekeepers, construction workers, and landscapers around than trying to secure our borders.

Like I said, under Giuliani, the policy of immediately releasing illegals caught committing crimes was instituted (crimes committed by illegals cannot be recorded on the NYPD's COMPSTAT totals, and included on the official stats)....

The blacks were actively directed to "retire" down South by counselors at "Workforce" encouraged to move down South, and the Puerto Ricans were encouraged and in some cases, paid, to relocate specifically to the Bethlehem/Allentown area in Pennsylvania, where no-money-down mortgages were arranged (at taxpayer cost) for modest homes in areas unattractive to anyone else...the ramshackle houses and taxpayers housed the welfare cases, and their dole went further out in the sticks.

And many ghettoes and barrios were repopulated by Mexicans, Chinese, and to a lesser extent, Albanian Muslims and Poles. I can name each one for you, tell you who lived there before, and who lives there now.

I am tough on crime and understand the need to encourage certain elements in society to get out of town, but to replace them with illegals, be completely upfront about the flouting of existing immigration laws, and encourage the illegals to SEND FOR THEIR FAMILIES and have ANCHOR BABIES?

HELLO?

Is this what you want for America?

Is this how you will destroy us, to keep your precious party in power?

Don't tell me about your values, you hypocrites.

You sold this country out, a long time ago.

Whether or not a wall is effective is not the issue as far as the poll is concerned- the poll was too vague on what enforcement and border security entails and where the issue ranks in general. Useful in framing the Senate vote, not the election.

Hash, I see you are overdosing on hate. YOU DEEPLY HATE AMERICA AND THOSE WHO PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO IT. Hash, I suggest you go live in Zimbabwe for awhile and then return after a few years to tell us what a paradise Mugabe has.

Hash--

Consider this. The murder rate in Killadelphia under Street, for example, is 22 per 100,000. In Detroit under Kwame Kilpatrick it is 35 per 100,000. In NYC in contrast, the murder rate is 6 per 100,000. You can't logically claim Giuliani ran a fascist regime in NYC that oppressed poor vagrants and criminals, and then in the same breath claim that the reduction in crime was all a show and Giuliani was really laissez-faire.

Thanks for noting that union thugs also despise Giuliani.

liberals have no real way of explaining why murder and violent crime went down, except to say he just made everyone move. The stats are there, the facts are there. Being tough and going after criminals is what works, not the sympathy and excuses made by the Left.
