2 Great Lakes losing water quickly

Why can't the government fix anything?
And why did EVERYTHING that happened in the 60's have terrible consequences?
This dredging project happened in 1962, all these bridges that are faulty were made or repaired in the 1960's. It wasn't just the deterioration of our society and the start of socialism that started in the 1960's.

Our govt can't take care of bridges and fix things that they have knows about for over 40 years, but you want them to be in charge of your health care...okay.

Everything? Really.. I think you may want to take that back.

The Army Corps. is notorious for effing things up. Really, its not a big shock. I would be more worried about this:

"A controversial U.S. Supreme Court consent decree allows Chicago and its suburban neighbors to take up to 2.1 billion gallons of Lake Michigan water per day."

esp. when you think about the three decades of pollution in Lake Michigan by BP. Drink up!

Fixing bridges, roads, ect. takes money. We're going to be paying for it one way or the other. Does the govt make mistakes? yes.. Do corporations make mistakes? yes. Personally, I would rather have people in charge that I can hold accountable.

Interesting you brought that up in your link...since it was Republicans who passes that...
Also, I would argue that while things needed to become equal, all the social programs that liberals created to try and make things fair have actually left blacks and other minorities worse off than ever.

As far as big business versus govt, there is no clear answer...
I would argue that your assumption that public employees are more accountable is probably not true. The govt bureaucracy is too vast to hold anyone accountable...sometimes a few at the top or the middle gets booted, but they are replaced by more incompetent people.

Republicans passed a movement? I know some liberals that would pay good money to see that. (btw, your being terribly dishonest with this comment.) This really doesn’t have to do with Civil Rights though. Its only being used to show your statement to be outrageous.

"blacks and other minorities worse off"
I almost forgot about this argument by rightists. Claiming such people as MLK as their own. Remind me.. did he vote for Kennedy? Really, I don’t remember. This sort of created history is touching. One day, I'll be old and gray, conservatives will be claiming "our first black president" as one of theirs. They will shout how much they loved him.

Looking through the rest of your statement it reads like “fight night”. Especially this one.. “business versus govt”… Lordy. Its about balance me amigo. Even libertarians want infrastructure to be provided by government. At least that’s what we’re talking about in relation to the bridge falling down. Then, you compare that to another topic, health care. You take one extreme position and compare it to a fairly moderate discussion. Apples and oranges.

Of course lets not forget about recent government failures. This is government run by conservatives at their most bestest. Perhaps its just that conservatives need to be out of govt. for things to work:)
