Democrats mix religion, politics and hype in ads aimed at choking Republican Jindal's bid for governor.

How are Democrats allowed to flat out lie like this:

The Louisiana Democratic Party is serving up a hard-to-stomach mix of exaggeration, mischaracterization and falsehood against Republican candidate Bobby Jindal, who’s running for governor in a contest that could be decided in October. We found these items floating in the stew:
One ad falsely claims Jindal "supported raising the Medicare eligibility age." The proposal actually came from former Democratic Sen. John Breaux, not Jindal.
The same ad claims Jindal, a member of the House of Representatives, “failed to support our troops and veterans” by voting “against fully funding Tricare,” the health insurance program covering active-duty military personnel and their families. Actually, what Jindal voted against was expanding Tricare to cover non-active-duty National Guard and Reserve troops.
The ad also says Jindal "voted against lowering the cost of prescription drugs," which isn’t true. The bill the ad refers to wouldn’t have controlled drug prices directly, and it likely would have had little if any effect on prescription drug prices, according to nonpartisan government experts.
Another TV ad claims Jindal, a Roman Catholic, “insulted thousands of Louisiana Protestants” with a theological article written years ago. In fact, Jindal’s article said, "I am thrilled about ... Catholics and Evangelicals discovering what they have in common."
A third ad claims Jindal got a "D" rating from a "nonpartisan" veterans group. But the group has given "A" ratings only to Democrats and "F" ratings only to Republicans.

Go read about how Karl Rove and Georg W. Bush defeated Anne Richards in Texas and then come back to me and complain.

Why don't you send me your far-left wing link that is full of half truths and crap.
This link is non-partisan...infact, I would say this site leans slightly Left.

Why is it hard for you to face the fact that there are bad guys on BOTH sides? Why is it so hard for you to face that fact? Why is all this character smearing and how the right is victimized the main topic of this blog. What about real issues like healthcare and the war and roads and bridges and jobs and immmigration(which you DO mention occasionally. But only with racial or us vs. them undertones.)So many important issues so little time between smearing the left to talk about them.

Seriously man, look at your posts for the past couple of weeks. Sorry dude. This isn't a political discussion, this is schoolyard taunts and whining.

You have a point...
However, when liberals are involved, it is very hard to get an intellectually honest discussion going...so for now I'll stick to this method.
Also, I never said there was NEVER a Republican who did something wrong...
The difference is when they are caught they resign...when the Dem is caught they get re-elected.

It is up to the people to decide. That is the way democracy works. If Larry wants to run again go right ahead. Hell, all kinds of people knew of the evil deeds of the Bush cabal(no I don't have BFD or whatever you like to call it) and he got to ruin the country for another term. Amen

I am quite intellectually honest when addressed in that way. When in Rome, I do as the Romans do. If you want to have an intellectually honest argument lets do. If you want to smear I'm playin your game.

To add to Ron's point, the Democrats stripped Jefferson of his committee assignments and refused to endorse him in the primaries. This isn't the USSR- there isn't a way to ban him from running.

that magnifies the point that Dem's vote for trash...if a Republican did what he did, he would not have won.

In our covert investigation conducted at Victory Christian Center (VCC) in Austin, TX, we collected mounting evidence of how the Republican political strategy is employed from the Bush/Rove White House on down to their base of conservative Evangelical churches.

David Barton, Vice-chairman of the Texas GOP and founder of an organization called Wallbuilders, was invited to be the guest speaker at both of VCC's Sunday morning worship services on August 20, 2006. According to Pastor Lee Boss' introduction of David Barton to the congregation, he's "been used by God to touch more elected officials in this nation over any other organization." Armed with old-time bibles, a swanky PowerPoint presentation, and much jibber-jabber, Barton mobilizes the Evangelical Christians to the polls by replacing the word "voting" with "stewardship". He concludes by telling us that Republican political candidates are the obvious choice in our stewardship if we are concerned with biblical issues.

Karl Rove understands the conservative Evangelical voices are a powerful and very well organized tax exempt, money making machine for the Republican party. As long as these Evangelical church leaders have an insatiable appetite for power and influence, Rove will continue to use them to succeed on his mission of establishing a permanent Republican majority. Watch how all the Republican Presidential candidates are scrambling in a tizzy to court the Evangelical / Religious Right vote. It's funny to see the conservatives salivating at the bit, waiting for the next self-righteous politician with the right outside package that they can rally behind. Ever notice how the GOP have to beat up on a minority group of people in order to rally their base? How Christian or Christ-like is that?
