U.S.: NKorea to Declare Nuclear Programs

A perfect example of how the conservative philosophy fits and is effective in the real world. Liberalism sounds nice in college classrooms and in the newsrooms, but it never works in practice.

Bill Clinton created the North Korean nuclear program with liberalism. Meaning, be nice to them, give them stuff, and they will be nice and listen to us.
Then we get a nuclear program.
The conservative way is harder, takes more work and guts, but it is the one that gets results. Proven once again in this case.

As I kept telling the socialists here, North Korea is not like Iran. The North Koreans are materialist, progressive, atheist gooders looking for a handout, not suicide.

The Bush administration will probably give them some sort of handout, but the North Koreans will have to get rid of the nukes in exchange. The Democrats wanted Kim Jong Il to have the nukes AND the handouts from the West, which the Bush administration stated was unacceptable. North Korea needed to stop the program before any talks could proceed.

This is the critical point in neo-conservative teaching-- the internal political character or a regime will determine its external behavior to a large extent.

character *of* a regime, I meant to write

I would suspect that this development will have no effect on the Bush-hating attitude of the left. It will not sway their opinion of his competence or his ability to assemble a team that can get things done. And while I agree that the differences between NKorea and Iran are night and day, I wouldn't be surprised to hear of similar progress in Iran at some point. No doubt the road traveled will have to be a different one than was traveled in the NKorean situation, but Bush continues to confound the left with his successes, even if they are now fewer and farther apart.

WAIT! WHAT AM I TALKING ABOUT? Obviously the Bushhitler Crime Family has simply made an offer the Kim couldn't refuse! Any success by George HAD to be the result of evilness and bad stuff! The bastard! Well I won't be fooled. If there are peaceful relations with NKorea as a result of this, I simply reject it because Bush did something bad! Oh the horror!

I think you need to get your facts straight here.

The agreement that the US currently has with North Korea is virtually the same as it was under Clinton. When Bush came into office, he got rid of anything that had to do with Clinton including the agreement worked out with North Korea to limit nuclear arms proliferation.

When Bushed reneged on the US's agreement, that is when North Korea began building their nuclear weapons. When Bush resumed the Clinton policy, voila, back to effective detente between the two countries.

In other words, Bush has embraced the Clinton policy that was working until Bush stopped it.

Bravo for Bush?

"In other words, Bush has embraced the Clinton policy that was working until Bush stopped it."

Jim's statement is true.

Once again, Bush's incompetence in handling even basic domestic policy tasks and simple diplomacy nearly resulted in nuclear war and global catastrophe. Once America's more moderate, sensible, everyday policies were reinstituted, the world could once again breathe at least a bit easier, for the apocalypse was, for a time, temporarily averted.

Simply ANOTHER manifestation of the death knell of conservatism and the levels of desperation its few holdouts go to, to save this failed political theology, in the 21st century.

I don't think Jim's take on the situation is as simple as all that. I'll have to review the incidents that led to NK's decision to re-activate their program, but I believe Bush's "reneging" was responsive, not provocative. Meanwhile, Clinton's brilliance allowed for the nuke rods to be stored where NK could easily get at them. THAT was a good idea. NOT.

Game, this policy shift by NK is met w/numerous concessions by the Bush administrations (hmm...sounds familiar) and is criticized in conservative circles (hmm......sounsds familiar).

I heard an interview with John Bolton, who should be our UN rep, no thanks to the idiot left. He stated that, indeed, there is little in the way of "trust, but verify" in the way it seems to stand now. I hope there are some details that aren't out in the open that would make this a little tougher for Kim to play games. I won't hold my breath.

John Bolton should be locked up and transferred to his proper nation of allegiance afterward (if there's anything left over)....

Look at how these operatives want to surrender our country to their PNAC "one world order"...

Thank 'em for the Mexican trucks while you're at it.
