As Democrats See Iraq Gains, a Shift in Tone

As violence declines in Baghdad, the leading Democratic presidential candidates are undertaking a new and challenging balancing act on Iraq: acknowledging that success, trying to shift the focus to the lack of political progress there, and highlighting more domestic concerns like health care and the economy.

Dems are having a problem because the US military is doing well.
They took the hard line that Iraq was a failure ran with it.
Now they have to "change their stance."
Doesn't it seem to be interesting when the candidates on one side have to change a fundamental policy.
Dems...stick to what you believe in. Iraq is a failure and we need to get out. Don't change because you are wrong, don't change because you know the polls are going to start changing.

I think Democrats change with every shifting of the wind!! Sheeesh!

Democrats are always determined to make things as divisive and partisan as they possibly can.
It used to always amaze me at how we could have people with such intelligence, yet make such absurd and asinine decisions for our country as our Leaders ... but not anymore!! The farther left Democrats go, the more they isolate themselves from all reason.

Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Hillary Clinton, Jack Murtha, John Kerry, Barbara Boxer, Dianne Feinstein, Ted Kennedy, and their ilk proven themselves unworthy of any office anywhere in this Great Nation.

As Democrats change on the issues in favor of "victory" and pulling out, in so doing, our enemies overseas are watching and listening to every move we make, just waiting for that opportunity, that weakness, to attack our belssed land with a veangance.

In ending ... that's why it is dependent upon those of us of the RIGHT camp, the sane camp who will take a stand and support our troops and honorable President in helping to preserve and protect our cherished freedoms that we are so blessed with, by whom? The Lord Almighty who sustains us each and every day!!

We are so blessed!

God bless!
Jeremiah

The National Democrats are never honest, and many of the local ones aren't either.

What do you expect from politicians? They will keep changing their stories based on the situation.

Remember - first it was weapons of mass destruction, then it was 'spreading the democracy', then the 'terrorism'.....?

Now, it's the turn of dems!!

Sick!

That was one of the few times Bush seemed to cater to what he thought was the most popular position. It was obvious that he thought a free Iraq would spread democracy and safety to the world...however, he decided to sell it with the WMD's...
So I wouldn't say he changed his position, he changed the spin...
In this case, Dem's are actually changing what they think about a topic.

Excuse me, but read the speech before Congress word for word, and not from Media Matters or any Democrat. READ WHAT WAS SAID!

WMD was one reason, and not the only one. In this case, hindsight is not 20/20, but filtered by Josef Goebbles working for the Democrat party.

Go back to what Bubba and the Democrats were saying in 98 and 99. It is what Bush said to justify going after Saddam.

PCD has it correct (right), WMD, was but one reason Bush gave.

WMD’s were the reason most reported by the sound bite, mainstream, media, perhaps that’s why the moonbats that post here are confused (wrong/left). Not that what Bush actually said matters to a Lefty.

Blamin,

You have to remember that Words mean things to non-liberals. The left goes for the bumper-sticker mental capabilities of those like Hash.
