Giuliani Defends Questionable Expenses

Welcome to being a Republican in a national election Rudy.
For those who care about morality and don't approve of adultery, this might be a big deal.
Of course, that can't be any Democrat, since none of them seemed to mind when Clinton did it.
Can we talk about the issues of our country please?
Can we stop with the bias media coverage?
How much outrage did we get from the media when multiple state troopers admitted they covered for slick Willy as he was having affair after affair?

Like I said, if you are a religious conservative, this might be an issue for you.
However, we learned with Clinton that it is not an issue with at least half of you.

You reap what you sow...

Republicans run big on family values, religion and spending. It's quite natural that they are held to slightly higher standards on those issues. Nothing wrong.

Same with Dems. Look at them - they are being crucified for their vote on Iraq war, Iran and universal healthcare.

don't believe clinton had the secret service provide security for monica at taxpayer expense.

and that's the point. the issue isn't adultry. it's bilking taxpayers.

and it was two state troopers who couldn't keep their stories straight.

Not Monica, all the women the troopers set up for him in Arkansas.

Well, I'm not a religious fundamentalist, so the issue isn't important to me.

There is a fundamental difference between the two cases though. Giuliani was recommended to provide security for his mistress by professionals, probably so she wouldn't get wacked by Giuliani's mob/union enemies. WJC in contrast used state troopers to facilitate extra-marital affairs.

The insane Mike Huckabee crowd, which is pushing shit like covenant marriage, will be mainly pissed that Giuliani has been divorced twice. Of course, like Huckabee his followers approve of putting gays who have AIDS in concentration camps. I promise you all, if Mike Huckabee is the nominee, I *will* vote for Hillary Clinton.

Huckabee will not win

And I like that you atleast admit that Clinton did have state troopers aide him in his adultry...liberals here can't admit any wrong doing by any Democrat.

What Clinton did during the 92 Campaign was to overbill for Secret Service travel expenses and use the monies received to campaign on until contributions caught up and they had to pay back the overcharges.

blamin--

Mike Huckabee in 1992 said he wanted to put gays with AIDS in concentration camps. What horrifies me is not that he made a mistake in judgment. It is that Huckabee stands by his judgment.

In short, Huckabee is a dark age fundamentalist. If he is the nominee, I will do everything within my power to make certain his democrat opponent wins. And this is coming from a person who hates socialism with a passion.

Huckabee is also for ClintonCare, higher taxes, putting murderers back on the streets, and wants to empower the federal government to enforce his religion on people. "We can't have 50 different versions of morality." Uh, I want someone who supports federalism, which is something the right usually at least gives lip service to.

But yeah, Huckabee's views on AIDS victims are downright disgusting.

He will not get the nomination

I'm not attacking Huckabee because he's an evangelical Christian. I've defended Mitt Romney from bigoted leftwing attacks about his religion many times during the last view weeks. I oppose Mike Huckabee because he is a Neanderthal.

At least with Clinton I might get a few sensible policies like free trade (which Huckabee opposes), cuts in the capital gains (Huckabee is a tax hiker), telecom deregulation, and airstrikes against thugs like Saddam and Milosevic. We'll have to defeat socialized healthcare again (which Huckabee supports), but I'd rather face this battle than a rightwing progressive that has an identical healthcare plan AND wants the federal government doing Good Works for Jesus.

Just like I prefer Obama over Keyes, I prefer Clinton over Huckabee. This isn't even close for me. Clinton *will* have my vote in this scenario.

Just so you know, I’m not a Huckabee supporter, his record is too questionable, but I’m not foolish enough to support a Democrat over any of the Republican nominee’s.

To say you’d vote for a Dem over Huckabee is akin to saying you’d rather have a weasel guard the hen house because you don’t trust the house cat.

Contrary to most media reports, from what I can gather, Huckabee merely said that aids carriers should be quarantined. This was early on, when little was known about aids; he was just going by guidelines as established by the CDC for infectious diseases. (BTW Huckabee never used the words – concentration camp)

OK, I’m going to go ahead and ask the (gasp) unthinkable question. Purely rhetorical – how many lives would have been saved if aids carriers were quarantined in the early days, until more was known about this disease?

If you remember, early on in the aids crises, Ronald Regan’s administration wanted to warn gays against having unprotected sex. The liberals went ape shit and tried to make an issue out of the messenger. They demonized Regan, who did more to educate and help fight against this horrible disease than any other single human being before him. You could argue that those whom attacked Regan on this issue are murderers who cared nothing about human life if it interfered with their PC worldview. Perhaps Huckabee (not being a doctor or scientist) was simply trying to take the safe-high ground, as dictated by the CDC

Again, not to mince words, and just so you understand my view - I’m no Huckabee supporter, but to say you’d support any Dem nominee over any Repub nominee is not just sophistry, it’s destructive idiocy!

JhBowden,

I respect your opinions, but I believe you’re trying to cast Hillary as a centrist. Her record, and history would suggest otherwise.

Again, Huckabee will not get my vote in the primaries. But if it comes down to him vs. Hillary, Obama, or Edwards, then you can count me as a Huckabee man! After all the prez is not all powerful as you may believe, he or she can not pass laws on their own, and has to answer to their party.

I hope the party they have to answer to is the right party!

BTW how can any sane person prefer Obama over Keyes?

Do I actually need to cull the records over past Hillary or Obama quotes?

Well, I guess the typical MSM’s view of events is not quite accurate. What a surprise!!!

I’m just a hunter for the truth.

What is the truth?
