So, what do you think of this?
I guess liberals hate it because it gives the people who create jobs a tax break, as opposed to giving handouts to people who create zero jobs.
I am a believer that the President has very little to do with the day to day changes in the economy. It is possible that policies can change the economy long term. These decisions are not long term fixes, just short term band-aids.
What can we do to get the economy going again?
Probably nothing, its the natural ebb and flow of the economy.

Well, we can avoid making the same mistakes we did in the past. Tax breaks alone can't revive the economy.
- Cut down spending(including the unecessary wars)
- Control inflaton by stop printing dollars for mindless spending
- Bring down the offshore/outsourcing - this would also give our youngsters a better hope to focus more on education.
- Aggressively work on a new energy policy to cut down our dependecy on foreign oil.
- Finally, tell people that saving money is after all not a bad idea.
Again, in short term we are going to face the slowdown and the pain. It's the bad karma from our bad policies and decisions over a period of time.
no, it is not a "natural ebb and flow", it is republican mismanagement and stealing from the people
republicans will happily watch a mother's babies starve from lack of milk, or a veteran die slowly from lack of care, but fall all over themselves to bail out giant multinational corporations, with allegiance to no land, never mind america
the federal reserve is a private bank, nothing "federal" at all about, and the republicans are getting america deeper and deeper into a whole
if republicans want to help our economy, they should stfu, pay their taxes, do some actual work when they go to work, and leave the workings of our economy alone
but we all know this is impossible, of course
game,
The first thing is to make the tax cuts already enacted permanent, especially the child deduction. Democrats favor abortion, not funding kids.
One other thing would be ban and make illegal earmarks. Congress overspending is a burden the country can no longer afford.
Third, do a meaningful reform of Social Security where PEOPLE OWN THE ACCOUNTS AND THE CONTENTS OF THEM, not the government.
I agree...
