Dems deal misleading statements in Vegas debate

The three leading Democratic presidential candidates debated in Las Vegas and we noted the following:
Clinton once again mischaracterized the 2005 energy bill, saying it had "enormous giveaways" to oil and gas companies. In truth, the measure raised taxes on those industries. A lie repeated by the fools who come here.
Obama accused the Bush administration of failing to make "any serious effort" to encourage use of alternative fuels or raise fuel efficiency of automobiles. In fact, President Bush has signed major bills that do both. More made up positions and lying that does not get checked, so eventually to a liberal, it becomes fact
Edwards said he dropped his support for the Yucca Mountain nuclear waste storage site in part because of a scandal over forged documents. But he switched his position in 2004, and the scandal came along a year afterward.
The three candidates made sweeping claims about their intentions to remove troops from Iraq quickly, but all three admitted under questioning that they could have U.S. combat troops fighting in Iraq for years to come. Depends which crowd they are talking to. They say whatever it takes to get votes.
Clinton puffed up her role in stopping the "Bush administration" from taking back signing bonuses from those later wounded too seriously to complete their enlistments. Actually the Pentagon said its policy has been not to reclaim such bonuses and that a bill the Army sent to one soldier was an isolated case that was reversed. Again, can't defend a liberal position with logic or fact, so like in many other cases, Dems have to make up stories and outrage. NOTE: See stories of made up cases of racism and pretend soldiers who never served in Iraq or were kicked out. Also see debates and town hall meetings with questions from Hillary plants.
Edwards said "you should learn to speak English" before becoming a U.S. citizen. In fact, the law already requires, with few exceptions, that applicants for citizenship "must be able to read, write, speak, and understand words in ordinary usage in the English language." Hummmm...that is not done. Should be.

"In truth, the measure raised taxes on those industries."

but the giveaways are not given in the form of tax breaks, in fact, "

yes, very late in the game, and, in fact, the bills he did sign had no teeth to them anyway

more dog-and-pony shows, more shell games from republicans, who want oil and gas expense, and working americans to grow broke paying them

that's where your big tax breaks go, geniuses

"Edwards said he dropped his support for the Yucca Mountain nuclear waste storage site in part because of a scandal over forged documents. But he switched his position in 2004, and the scandal came along a year afterward."

problem is, the "article" you are quoting fails to get the sequence of the "switch" in proper order, in relation to the "scandal"

this actually favors edwards' position, as no sane american can actually imagine a republican president honest enough to actually
reject a scandal-ridden proposal

"The three candidates made sweeping claims about their intentions to remove troops from Iraq quickly, but all three admitted under questioning that they could have U.S. combat troops fighting in Iraq for years to come."

campaign finance reform, the restoration of direct, honest, leadership and forthrightness, and a fundamental shift in awareness on the part of americans in regards to failed us policies in the middle east will put an end to their appeasement of the enemy within soon enough

we will see to this

"Actually the Pentagon said its policy has been not to reclaim such bonuses and that a bill the Army sent to one soldier was an isolated case that was reversed."

the pentagon is lying, as usual, because there are scores of cases of such bonuses NEVER having been paid, and there are many soldiers who actually did their time in iraq , were discharged, and are sitting in quantico without charge or legal representation because they dared to inquire about their unpaid bonuses

"They say whatever it takes to get votes."

no, game, none of us can imagine an american politician doing such a thing

"NOTE: See stories of made up cases of racism and pretend soldiers who never served in Iraq or were kicked out."

any case of racism is automatically "made up" to you, and you will denounce any soldier that is portrayed negatively in your neocon miltard media as a "pretend soldier", so, unfortunately, your smears don't hold up well to scrutiny

"Also see debates and town hall meetings with questions from Hillary plants."

using rovian tactics designed and perfected by the republican side, and one would have to be blind not to see that both sides do this now

"Edwards said "you should learn to speak English" before becoming a U.S. citizen. In fact, the law already requires, with few exceptions, that applicants for citizenship "must be able to read, write, speak, and understand words in ordinary usage in the English language." Hummmm...that is not done. Should be."

yes, they should, but they will not be as long as this government is in power, because they WANT more illegals, and more legal immigrants, as they are cheaper to pay and less likely to complain

there is also the problem of the standard of what is considered "ordinary usage in the English language", and the tests these immigrants take are overly fixated and patriotardic bullshit and historical nonsense that will not help them assimilate into american society

they memorize what they need to know for the tests by rote, but that doesn't prove they can function, process essential information, understand and obey laws, and communicate effectively in english

but enforcing existing law would be a refreshing change, and would at least be a start

don't expect to see it under any republican president, though

they are interested in globalism, "free trade", no national borders, and an eventual "one world" government, not nationalism and america for americans
