Liberals destroyed Milwaukee in the 1970's by making white and black kids get on a bus and ride all over the city to get to school. They destroyed neighborhood schools, they destroyed the MPS budget, and essentially they destroyed MPS.
I have talked to many who were teaching at the time and every single one of them agrees that busing killed MPS.
Many of the working class citizens and the children who did do well in school, had high grades and would have done very well on NCLB tests moved away.
So, liberals spent the last 30 plus years destroying public schools with their failed liberalism, and they have finally come around.
However, when all is said and done this plan will not happen in the way it is reported in the paper.

Does anyone know what date the new plan will start?
it will "slowly" start at the start of the school year 2009...which means the full plan will NEVER be done.
We always were able to go to any school we wanted..as long as we got there ourselves..will never be allowed totally in MPS ever again..
imagine that....
