I wish he would have fought harder for this for the last 7 years, but you can't deny how 100% correct he is...AGAIN this week:
"Our problem in America gets solved when we aggressively go for domestic exploration. Our problem in America gets solved if we expand our refining capacity, promote nuclear energy and continue our strategy for the advancing of alternative energies as well as conservation," he said.
"One interesting thing about American politics these days is those who are screaming the loudest for increased production from Saudi Arabia are the very same people who are fighting the fiercest against domestic exploration, against the development of nuclear power and against expanding refining capacity."
Correct on:
1. We have TONS of oil that we don't even try and get...does getting that oil take care of everything...no...but not even trying to use OUR OWN oil is flat out stupid. Luckily we didn't have liberals around screaming while we were becoming the strongest and greatest country in the world, otherwise we never would have been...
2. Nuclear energy...another issue liberals have brain damage over. Man, it become easier and easier to see what our high energy, specifically gas problem is...environmentalist and regular old liberals making sure these things cost what they do.
Thanks liberals!!!
3. refineries...why have we not built a new one in like 35 years?
4. New forms of energy and conservation....correct, but see, he is talking in a fashion that this is ONE thing we need to do. Only a moron is ONLY talking about this option, especially when you consider any conservation WE do is drown out by India and China using hundreds of times more energy than we could ever conserve.

I don't know how you can claim Bush is good about ANYTHING concerning energy, when we are in the situation we are in, thanks to his inspired leadership...
Sensible Americans want something better (not that any of the candidates actually have it...)
I commented on what he SAID...it is 100 percent correct...
And his problem with energy is that he did not fight for it...
If your a liberal you have been saying he went to war just for the oil...so he was trying.
Good post, Game. I didn't hear this speech. He IS on the money.
More refinieries and drilling will address the issue only in short term. Nuclear and alternative technologies are much more needed.
Politicians are in the business of solving problems. Economics, however, is about trade-offs. There is no free lunch. Anyone who claims to have solutions to a "crisis" is bullshitting, including Bush.
My policy would be to do nothing, and tell consumers to suck it up and drive efficient cars. That would never fly though-- today's American wants to scapegoat others (environmentalists, energy corporations, etc) for their own poor decision-making.
That is so true, and that is the problem.
Politicians are unable to tell the truth and come up with plans that will actually solve problems because they would be beat up so badly by the other side and the media that it is not worth it to them.
So they say what everyone wants to hear, and nothing really gets solved anymore.
