The Savage Manifesto

I won't just post all of his points...but here are some great highlights with a little commentary every now and then...

A. Cut Federal Income Taxes by 2 percent per year over four years, for a minimum total of 8 percent over four years.
B. Reduce Federal Government Departments in size by 4 percent each year, for a total reduction of size by 16 percent over four years.
C. Eliminate all public assistance for able-bodied recipients. Cut off all public assistance for immigrants for five years. Repatriate those who are not working, after two years.
I agree we could cut a LOT of failed liberal social free handout programs. These free handouts keep many, many able-bodied Americans from ever doing anything with their lives...

G. Make abortions illegal, except when the physical survival of the mother is threatened, to be determined by three medical doctors. Require Norplant for all women on welfare of childbearing age.
Killing a baby should be illegal...I'm not so sure I can go as far as Savage when it come to mandating Norplant..but if you are on welfare I shouldn't have to pay for your lack of ability to keep your legs closed.

A. Iraq. Send in Iraqi troops to mop up pockets of resistance. Make Iraq pay with their oil for the cost of the war. Cordon off Sadr City, force all residents to leave, then go in and mop up all resistance fighters. Divide Iraq into three to four sectors; Sunni, Shiite, Kurd, and International. Next, remove all U.S. troops after above achieved.
Liberals want to lie and say we went to war for oil....so okay...lets take that oil until our bills have been paid for the war.

He also talks about demanding a barrel for an illegal alien from Mexico! :)

Iraq - Didn't we go there to 'destroy the weapons of mass distruction', which later changed to 'spreading democracy'?? But I agree with him - we should use Iraqi troops for street patrolling - why are we using our young men to do it, feeding them to roadside bombs?

if you think that the us invaded iraq to bring democracy to the poor iraqis, then you are as delusional as george w. bush has needed you to be.

and isn't dividing iraq into sectors what biden proposed a year or more ago?.

but this says nothing about the terraists. what about al qaeda? i thought according to you, the us is in iraq to destroy al qaeda. how could we leave iraq if al qaeda is not eradicated?

oh, does "c." mean no unemployment benefits?

Some of this is absolutely ridiculous, but one thing that must be said for Savage is, that he at least has given us more substance and more of a coherent plan than any one of the presidential candidates has.

According to the military leaders in Iraq, Iraqis are indeed taking more lead positions in the every day patrolling. So this point is moot.

And there we go with the tired WMDs line again. WMDs were only one reason for going. The continued refusal to abide the many UN resolutions, the last of which had strict "or elses" attached, were just as important a reason, and another of many.
