Minimum wage goes up Friday
Read this story. This is liberalism in action. They raise the minimum wage so poor people think they care and get their vote. They do not realize that the same program that is meant to help them will cost them their job, or cut their hours, or make products cost more...
RACINE — At the Deli Station, owner Gal Friedwald has cut hours for employees because business isn’t doing as well as he expected. Now with minimum wage going up this week, he has to cut more hours, he said.Friday the federal minimum wage increases to $7.25, an increase from $6.55 for adults working in nonagricultural jobs and from $5.90 for minors under 18, according to the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development.“I like that idea,” said Jessica Fiore, 21, of Racine, who makes minimum wage as a cashier at the Citgo gas station at 2101 Douglas Ave.
But for Friedwald that means he has had to cut about 10 hours per week from his payroll, cutting his part-time employees’ hours even more.“We don’t have money. Our sales are not that high to keep going at those hours,” said Friedwald, who owns the deli at 1516 State St., which opened in February. He is going to keep the store open the same number of hours. “It just means I’ll have to work in here harder,” Friedwald said.

another issue liberals can not defend...sorry for using actual stories and facts again
I've seen this country go through a number of minimum wage increase and the scare that it will kill jobs on a large scale is always proffered. Hasn't, ever. As a matter of fact if you look at areas like Washington(state) their higher minimums actually contributed to job growth. I'm sure you will argue that point without investigation but I am use to that by now. If minimum wage increase dramatically increase unemployment we should be expecting it to skyrocket in the next month or two. We will see what happens but as I said, I've been through this before and I'm bettin it ain't gonna happen.
If he can't run a profitable business then he shouldn't be in business. He should pull his bootstraps! What happened to your survival of the fittest mentality?
i dont think the obama economy can have a much higher unemployment rate..
And I cant help it I cited a story of business owners saying how they are going to cut jobs...those darn things called facts get in the way again..
