Riddle me this liberals

Just thought a few things this afternoon...please answer these questions liberals:

1. Is what Obama is doing in Afghanistan a surge? You spent all your time bashing Bush for whatever he did, but he clearly was successful in Iraq and it was based on his idea to have a surge of military in Iraq...so what would you say Obama is doing right now? Go ahead and support him, just admit you were wrong before or admit you really have no thought or value system and that all your decisions are based on bashing Republicans..

2. What happened to all the predictions algore made about global warming? Earth temp has not gone up since 2001. Miama and Hawaii have not been covered by water yet, hurricane activity has gone down. When are you going to admit you were wrong on that one?

3. Cap and tax: If you truly believe that we are destroying the planet why do you support this? Is the US the ONLY place there is pollution? If we chase business out of the US to China, do you think business will be more or less clean there? or in Central America? or India?

This must be something entirely different...not..

1. The current strategy in Afghan is to right the ship that was listing. Call it a surge or whatever you want. Question for you: if we are undergoing an economic surge (aka stimulus spending) why don't you ask for the time that was needed for the military surge to succeed?

2. It might not be US policy, but millions of people are reducing greenhouse gases throughout the world. There's always fluctuations in global warming trends.

3. Don't know enough about it. But ain't worried that business can't afford to clean up their act and be more accountable to their customers and shareholders. There were people who refused to buy and drive a Model T and kept riding their horse around town. Change comes slowly.

1. They hated Bush, partly because he cheated them out of an Al Gore presidency, partly because they owed us from Clinton, and partly because of Bush's mistakes (as if he should have been perfect). To answer anonymous, question for you, without researching name one stimulus project that is stimulating the economy? SERIOUSLY, name one right off the top of your head.

2. To anonymous, "There's always fluctuations in global warming trends."? Really, you just figured that out. The rest of us already knew that. The key word is always. If there is ALWAYS fluctuations in the trend (I can't believe you even said that) then how can you prove that the most recent fluctuations in the trend is not actually just a fluctuation in the trend instead of actual stagnation in the trend. Or let me reword that in words that make sense to the public school graduates. The global climate WILL change. Period.

3. Game, Don't confuse polution with CO2. And, they don't care about the climate, the climate is the climate.

Huh?

Did the rest of you also figure out the earth's population has quadrupled in the last 200 years, the same period of time when we figured out how to convert fossil fuels to energy? I understand that change frightens conservatives but the neanderthal approach of burying your head in the sand exposes your intelligence capacity for what it is.

"I understand that change frightens conservatives"

We make a distinction between change for the better, and change for the worst. Progressives by definition believe humanity always progresses in a positive direction; conservatives believe History does not take sides.

If manmade global warming is real, then we need a faster rate of economic growth so any tradeoffs that need to be made can become less painful. Western liberals, in contrast, are happy condemning millions of people in the third world to perpetual poverty. As in the abortion debate, liberals care more about animals than human life.

HumbleHumanity said...

What converted the energy to fossil fuels? The only thing that scares me is Mullah Obama sending someone into my house to set my temperature at 80 and check my light bulbs.

When Roe v. Wade was passed they said (and still do) that women are going to get abortions, you might as well make it as safe as possible. Well, now the shoe is on the other foot. People are going to use incandescent light bulbs, you might as well let them use the safe ones. Prochoice my ass. If you want to live in an 80 degree house feel free, just keep your stinky butt out of my personal space.

So you've gotten over the fear of your guns getting confiscated? That's at least a step in the right direction. You'll overcome the other temperature setting and light bulb thing too...just give it some time.

I am from Arkansas, haven't you heard about that cold dead fingers saying?

Tell me this genius, how do you measure global warming?

TerryN said...

You don't measure "global warming" You declare it's man made and condemn those that seek further truth as deniers.

History doth repeat itself. R.I.P. Galileo...

American said...

Not sure how many of us take sides on 'global warming' issue simply because we like/dislike Al Gore!

I too hope that the global warming is not real. I will go with with what science says. Let's keep our politics=, religion and talk show hosts out of this debate.

Note: I am not a big fan of Al Gore. Honestly, I find him irritating and not reliable. But, I am for environment friendly, sustainable life style.

HumbleHumanity said...

Which science are you talking about?

The reason you are not a big fan of Al Gore is because he uses a big air conditioner.

The Game said...

credible science disproves global warming...I have gone over this over and over and over...I have a great deal of experience in research, especially quantitative.
Anyone who thinks they can make any hypotheses on events of a plant that is probably millions of years old based on 100 years of data is insane.

"The reason you are not a big fan of Al Gore is because he uses a big air conditioner." - HH

Hmm...Did I say that? Or, you are making up your own things?

Listen - Bitter, partisan people like you honestly have no place in serious discussions as you bring nothing but blind hatred to the discussion table. So, you better stay in your echo chamber and repeat what your master says! At least, you will feel better..smiles...

American said...

Hey Game,

I'm glad that you have a great experience in research. You also bring up a good point on how sampling over a (relatively) small period can be very misleading.

I'm open to what science finds out. To me, this is not a political issue, this is not an opinion. To me, this is about seeking truth.

As I said, I really hope that there is no global warming.

TerryN said...

Al Gore politicized this when he said the argument is over. The IPCC politicized this when they threw out credible data refuting their position. The democrats, and Obama politicized this by cap'n tax and by declaring GW is man made and condemning those that seek further truth as deniers.

Humble Humanity, I've never seen any bitterness in your replies. Just understand that when people cant argue their point they make personal attacks. Statistically this happens more to liberals since all conservatives were liberal before they grew up.

Lets get the facts before we enact the tax...

HumbleHumanity said...

American, you said you weren't a big fan of Al Gore's, I simply made a joke...

Incedently, a thermometer is "science". Thermometers have indicated that the globe is actually cooling. What say you?

My master is truth. Who is your master?

HumbleHumanity said...

I'm still waiting for an answer American.

American said...

@ HH:
You made a joke, uh? What a nice excuse!! :)
I'm glad that your master is truth. Glad to see that you are on finally on the right track. I am my master and I seek truth.

@ Terry:
Nobody is engaged in personal attacks here. If you think so, you also fall into the same category - read your own post!!

HumbleHumanity said...

You are your own master? That is supposed to be a joke right?

Actually I am waiting for your answer to the following

"Tell me this genius, how do you measure global warming?"

American said...

@HH,
There is no shortage of surprises from your side!! smiles..
Why are you asking me on how to measure global warming? I'm sure they (scientists/ researchers) depend on a number of sources and scientific infrastructure to measure global warming/cooling. How would I know the details as I am not working in the area! (I've enough in my own field that I need to learn...LOL)
By the way, why are you asking me instead of asking the scientific community? This probably shows how you arrive at your conclusions!! You can't ask all these on-line questions to a random guy in a blog and start debating a serious issue. (It works good in radio talk shows for entertaining purpose). You understand ?

HumbleHumanity said...

So, your answer is more hot air. grimace

Your sure! Are you sure your sure? Because you don't sound very sure. When you have to say "I'm sure" and that is your answer, then from my experience you are actually unsure. So, please don't raise you hand.

Why would I ask the scientific community? gaging
For them, the debate is over. They just need to decide when to warn us about the next ice age.

American said...

Ok - first of all - I have a hard time understanding what you wrote in your previous post!!

Do you believe in science?

HumbleHumanity said...

Do I believe in science? DO I BELIEVE IN SCIENCE? What kind of a moronic question is that? Do you believe in marriage? Do you believe in the Pope? Do you believe in hope and change?

YOU SAID "I too hope that the global warming is not real. I will go with with what science says. Let's keep our politics=, religion and talk show hosts out of this debate."

Lesson #1 Scientists are NOT science. Do you even know what science is? seriously.

First you said you will "go with what science says" (bravo)

Then you said "Why are you asking me on how to measure global warming? I'm sure they (scientists/ researchers) depend on a number of sources and scientific infrastructure ... How would I know the details as I am not working in the area!"

Lesson #2 You can't "go with" something that you don't "know the details". That is how Obama got elected.

Lesson #3 You said you are "sure". ALL TOGETHER HOW SURE ARE YOU? Dude, are you sure enough to bet your future, your childrens future?

Scientists have told us much. They told George Washington he needed to bleed to get better. They said that celebrex was safe. The said the world is billions of years old. They said the world is getting hotter because of man (how sexist). The invented a thermometer a couple hundrend years ago and want us to believe that they KNOW the globe isn't supposed to get warmer or colder.

Science is observation and prediction. They can't hardly predict the weather today, and yet we are to believe that they can predict the weather later this summer or this century. Scientists are NOT science. I don't need anyone to tell me that. It is just common cents. Except to people with "change", which is all anyone will have if Obama has his way.

American said...

"Common cents" ???
"Science Vs Scientists"
"Change"
(Oh man - you are something...)

I still don't understand why you would ask me to provide you the details on Global warming and start a debate?? ;-)

Since you are very skeptical about science/scientists/experts (for all the right reasons), I'm just curious - who do you talk to understand the 'details' of how stuff works. A random guy on a blog OR radio talk show host?

HumbleHumanity said...

You know what? I don't know why I asked you anything either. As you so clearly stated, you can barely keep up with your own field. So, let's DON'T discuss anything. That way you can learn enough to be proficient at your chosen occupation. Then when you are smart enough, you may just be able to rise above poverty level and I won't have to support you anymore.

HumbleHumanity said...

If you don't have brain memory left, then don't read the following science lesson. You said "who do you talk to understand the 'details' of how stuff works. A random guy on a blog OR radio talk show host?" People can't talk thru radios, they are one way only.

American said...

"let's DON'T discuss anything" !!!!

Oh my!! I'm sure I have many things to learn including new english grammar.

I wrote - "I've enough in my own field that I need to learn". You twisted it and wrote - "you can barely keep up with your own field". Classic spin! Smiles...

Radios are one way only. WOW - you are so smart. But...there is something called telephone. Listeners can call the radio host and have a conversation. That's how many people like you get their questions answered!

HumbleHumanity said...

Don't waste your time becoming a grammarian for my sake. No, please master your field, or as you put it, learn more so you can have "not enough" to learn, because now you have "enough to learn", except when you have time to blog. (explain that to me)

HumbleHumanity said...

Do you believe in learning? chortling

American said...

oh, really? You still haven't answered my question on - "measuring global warming". Why are you trying to collect the information from a random guy on a blog and start a debate? Is it how you 'leran' things?

HumbleHumanity said...

Touche, you have bested my volley. Your victory is now complete.

American said...

Still...no answer?? Ummm...
