Wisconsin State Fair Day 10: Friday August 14th review and Saturday August 15th preview

Review for Rick Springfield: Wow! That was easily the best concert of the year and maybe over the past few years. He doesn't quite have enough hits to draw a big crowd, but the 3100 or so that came to the grandstand Friday night were fanatics and he fueled their fire. During his set he went into the crowd and had fans and security guards sing "Don't talk to Strangers" He was virtually running through the crowd, did I mention he was walking on the chairs. I don't think I will be alive at 60 let alone still have a good voice, tons of energy, a lean and mean body and walk through thousands of people on chairs. He just looked like a rock star on stage, doing all the moves, playing to the crowd, playing the guitar like he was in a rock movie. Over-all it was great. Some of the hits included Jesse's Girl, Human Touch and Love Somebody.
Opener Tyler Hilton was a pleasant surprise. He has a good voice and a great band. His 40 minute set was filled with good songs and sounds.
