Review for Time Warner Cable Mainstage: Demi Lovato
Hurricane force winds could not keep the 5700 screaming fans away from the Wisconsin State Fair Sunday night. The show started about an hour and 40 minutes late, and Jordan Pruitt was scratched from the line-up, but the crowd didn't seem to mind. The rain did cause some minor problems for the fair, but we were lucky that the first storm seemed to split into two right around the fair park and the heaviest rain and wind ended about 5 miles south of the park. The promoters and managers felt there was only a small amount of time in between shows. Therefore, the meet and greets were all cancelled as was the opening act. Everyone stayed in good spirits, especially Demi, who decided she didn't need an umbrella out of the hospitality building and ran around in the rain for a good ten minutes. I am guessing the large lighting strikes might have convinced her to head on into her bus. I am not sure what the actual ticket sales were for the night, but there were over 5500 in attendance and they did not seem to be turned away from the weather either. This was our biggest crowd and most elaborate set-up to date at this years fair. Everyone backstage agreed that the music was catchy, Demi ran around the stage, running up and down the steps and risers, and put on a show highly enjoyed by all her screaming fans. I didn't know any songs, but as usual for a show like this, the music sounded pretty good. At times it was bubble-gum pop and at other times it was closer to punk/hard rock. Insiders say that Demi will take over the top spot for Hanna Montana soon. It seems like her fans agree.
food update: mastered the super-nachos at el vagabond. They are $8.50, but you will be stuffed after putting this one down. Not sure what I will go for today.
