The anti-American Dream: Al Sharpton: We Won’t Have True Social Justice Until Everything Is ‘Equal in Everybody’s House’

this video shows the mind of a liberal.
Your life, your success has nothing to do with how hard you work, it has to do with what you can be given.
This is the problem with liberalism. People are much happier and become more and more successful when they earn what they have. We have a larger and larger percentage of the population that is constantly frustrated because they are not being given enough things fast enough. They take no pride in themselves, no pride in their life. This is what we are fighting against. The anti-American dream.

This is an innocuous statement and does not mean what you are trying to make it mean. He said, "The struggle is not over until we achieve equality...The dream was to make everything equal in everybody's house." It isn't some statement supporting a communist tenet. It says that everyone should be equal. Shouldn't they be? What could be more American?

Everyone should be given an opportunity to be equal. People are not equal. We all have different strengths and weaknesses. Those that God gave more talent too, those who work harder, are more responsible, or catch a few more breaks should have a better house with better stuff in it.
I'm not jealous of those who have more than me. If I want more I have to earn it.

Game said, People are not equal.

People should be equal. Equal in the eyes of the law, equal in opportunity and equal in responsibility to their fellow citizens and their country.

Doesn't mean that people should be the same. Same and equal should not be construed as synonyms in this context.

So, if you alter your previous comment to reflect this "nuance", I think that I and the vast majority of our citizens would agree with you. And I don't think that Al Sharpton is asking for anything more. The "house" to which Rev. Al is referring is metaphorical, of course.
