"Leading Democrats have no intelligence"

I can't believe how funny this is. Just read this quote from John Kerry taken Friday.

“History will show that none of the leading Democrats had substantial intelligence. Anyone who remembers what we did then knows that the president is making a baseless allegation. I think history will bear out my contention that we Democrats lacked the intelligence to make such an important decision.”

I couldn't have said it better myself...

Let me see. The CIA reports to the White House. The FBI reports to the White House. The Defense Intelligence Agency reports to the White House. The Office of Special Plans (Feith and friends) reported to the White House.

I don't know of any intelligence gathering or analysis agency that reports directly to the Congress. The information Congress gets IS NOT independent of the White House.

The White House claims that Congess saw the same information that it did. Congress got the information that was given to them after the Office of Special Plans and the White House put the spin on it that would support their case for war.

Ladies and gentlemen, if you believe that "9/11 changed everything" you need to read Kristol, Wolfewitz, Rumsfeld, Libby et al's very own website.

You will learn that 9/11 did not "change everything." It enabled everything that this group was hoping to do since at least 1997.

Have a look.

9-11 allowed Americans to wake up for about 4 years and allow the government to do what they need to do...of course many American's can't remember or learn from history, so things are going back to the pre 9-11 thinking

Jim thinks that Reagan's vision of freedom and democracy is a new thing that the neo-cons cooked it up to justify the Iraq war.

The problem for Jim and liberals is I don't think they believe in these values so they fear them.

New American Century Statement of Principles

• we need to increase defense spending significantly if we are to carry out our global
responsibilities today and modernize our armed forces for the future;

• we need to strengthen our ties to democratic allies and to challenge regimes hostile to our interests and values;

• we need to promote the cause of political and economic freedom abroad;

• we need to accept responsibility for America's unique role in preserving and extending an international order friendly to our security, our prosperity, and our principles.
